Many of them got pregnant and Sergio aborted the babies if they were predicted to be boys, but he let them had the girls so he could rape them when they've grow up. It all came to the light when Sergio abandoned one baby boy in Spain (because they thought it was going to be a girl) and the scandal begun. Sergio and Gloria were released because Sergio's brother had a high position in Mexico's government and knew all the brother's money laundering and corrupted bussinesses, so in order to keep them silent he used his influences to released them. Sergio is the main villain, but Gloria was his henchwoman, she abused physicaly and emotionally to the other girls and babies.
