It depends on the person. Personally I think everyone is a hypocrite when it comes to comedy. I have a religious friend who's fine with racist jokes and homophobic jokes but if you make fun of Jesus he'll lose his mind. Everyone thinks certain things should be protected from being made fun of but what people think those things are varies from person to person. And it's all because of personal biases and subjective morality. But if you ask me, good comedy punches up. Not down. Blazing Saddles is kind of punching down. There are better ways to do parody and satire without reaching for the lowest hanging fruit along the way.

I was very young, broke, sitting at home on a Saturday night when that "Chevy Chase /Richard Pryor" skit was aired live. The skit ended after the N-word and "dead H-word" with Chase telling Pryor "You got the job, and we will pay you 50 thousand dollars a year, making you the highest paid janitor in America, just don't hurt me.". Years later(in the "90's) I was a cop in one of the highest paid Police Departments in the Country (we made six figures easy). We had neighborhood substations, so that we were accessible to our communities. My partner and I met our supervisor at a substation, which was pretty dirty. (only the female officers cleaned them w/o being told and we didn't have a lot of them back then). The boss told us he was going ti sign us out of service to clean it up , OK. I went into the supply closet, got out gear, and told my partner "I got the Latrine, you do the office". (I took it in stride because I'm a Military Veteran, we clean everything in the service, but Tommy was pissed) We finished in about 25 minutes, and he was still hot. He asked me "How are you OK with this shit?". Tommy was of German-Dutch American background, I'm African-American, I told him "We are not going back into service until it's time to go home (because the boss signed us "out of service") " Another hour and a half. But right now "I'm the highest-paid Janitor in America". I was thinking about the Chase/Pryor skit the whole time. Tommy sat down in a chair and laughed for 5 minutes, he had tears and snot running.

Did the writers for this video even know what AAVE is? I don’t remember the controversy but one wonders if his apology was sincere or just a joke.

You ever noticed all the people who say shit like "they can't make jokes like that anymore" and "they couldn't make that movie today" are always the ones who get offended.

You left out zombie Anna Nicole Smith. It was like the week she died. I wasn't even a fan of hers and I thought that was going too far.

None of these sketches are offensive. If someone is offended by SNL, they shouldn't be watching. The whole point of SNL is to be satirical and push the envelope.

If you have such a delicate constitution, then maybe you should stick to watching the Hallmark Channel or one of the religious boring channels. Don’t watch a second rate comedy sketch show and act like it’s being shown to kids. Save the drama. So much of these were just not funny enough to be offensive.

The Boy Scouts need to shut the hell up and clean up their own house before they complain about a sketch.

Guys, apparently Adele wearing a Caribbean hairstyle while celebrating Caribbean culture at a local festival--where she grew up among Caribbean-British people--is offensive and cultural appropriation 😂

With the exception of the Elon skit and Adrian Brody, all of these skits were hilarious. People need to find some other stuff to complain about

Are people really offended by any of this? Or just watch mojo? Also Dan Crenshaw was never offended by the joke, he even pokes fun at himself in his own book about the incident. This is straight up just lying.

If there’s one thing I love, it’s sensitive jokes that are thought out and made to not offend any group of person or culture. Nice, dull, non-funny jokes.
