Very good. 👌 I would recomend also pitanga. It is a subtropical fruit from our region of Paraguay and Brazil.

Very impressive collection. White Sapote might be tier one if it’s both highly productive and delicious.

Thanks! :) Agree! It is going to be one of the larger trees in our garden, but it isn't very well known.
@tessaambler87152 ай бұрын
We have most of these fruit trees, some are in the pots like sugar apple, guavas, sapote, all kinds of mulberries too. We have 7 different kind of mangoes that we grow from seeds of the fruits, bananas of all kinds, tamarinds which we used for making sour soups. (Filipino dishes), moringa every corner, katuks, figs and etc. We live in an old subdivision here in Melbourne Florida, starting to grow edibles especially fruits and some veggies. Running out of space in the backyard and may use the front yard soon, lol 😂

We started in the backyard, too, and then expanded into the front 2 years ago. A lot of work but it is worth it

@@GonzaGardens We have most of our trees in the ground for 8-10 years while the ones in the pots are within 1/2/4/5/7 years. We love fruits so we plant what we eat and like, we got carried away by planting so many so we share and gave them to families, friends, neighbors and even strangers who loves them. ❤️🤗

Nice collection!! Maybe a strawberry guava or pineapple guava?? A macadamia nut tree or a lychee? I'm thinking of maybe adding a rambutan if I can find one. (Hi from Brevard County, also a zone 10a)

You have a nice selection. I have most of them ,but Milton uprooted my Jamaican Cherry ( did me a favor). I already planted a Guava in its spot. I dont have a Cherilata, but I do have Geffner , Lisa and Sugar Apple aka Sweetsop . I want to plant another tree , but am not sure as yet.
@GonzaGardens2 ай бұрын
Thanks. We are removing the Jamaican Cherry soon, we have been growing a Mamey under it for about a year now. I hope this video showed you some new trees to consider :)

Have you guys considered rose apples or inga? ( Ice cream bean ) I LOVE them
@GonzaGardens2 ай бұрын
Great suggestion! We have an Ice Cream Bean in the garden... that is a good one to add. We have not had rose apples, so we will have to search those out this year.

Hi! Suggestions for train keep in pots?
@GonzaGardens2 ай бұрын
some plants need to stay in pots because they get root-knot nematodes, like the fig. But others can be kept in pots as long as they are kept pruned and watered.

Great video. What is the size of your property that you have all of these planted on and how close do you have them all together? It looks like they are pretty close and some don’t get a lot of sunshine. Am I right? Are there any that can be planted close to a home’s foundation and how close? I’m wondering because I live in town and have just a back yard and two side yards where I can plant. All pretty sunny except a huge palm that deeply shadows a circle of about 15’ in the SW corner . I also have some raised veggie beds that need sunshine. I’m hoping I can fit several of these trees close together maybe on the side yards and along the southern fence.
@GonzaGardens2 ай бұрын
Thanks. We have 0.17 acres and the trees are about 8 feet apart. They were planted and designed accounting for pruning and growth habit/pattern of the fruit trees, so all trees are getting light and none are shaded. Feel free to watch any complete tour video of the garden, we have a side with raised beds as well. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fqvRmXijirJgnsU

@@GonzaGardens one of the things I’m concerned about are what trees can be planted close to the house without damaging the foundation. For instance I read that mulberry tree should be planted at least 15 feet from your house because the roots are invasive. Do you know of any others that I should be careful about due to the root system?
@GonzaGardensАй бұрын
@@lindagonzalez9774 as you prune the top of the tree, it kinda root-prunes with it. There is a "shoot to root" ratio. So, as long as the trees dont get giant, they will not mess with the foundation. We have visited old, mature food forests with trees jammed everywhere, and even left in pots, 30 feet tall now, and they are not messing with the foundation of the house. As long as you prune and maintain the garden, there is nothing to worry about..

be a zone pusher. plant that apple tree. what would go wrong.?
@GonzaGardens2 ай бұрын
We had them (4 of them, actually) and we simply do not get cold enough here. We would rather push our zones for more tropicals that we can protect from cold, rather than wait and wait and wait for maybe sometime apples. Custard apples are delicious and jujube is a great tropical substitute for apples that thrives here.

Excellent suggestions!!! Persimmon is the only tree not in our garden, but it is a good one! Pomegranates are ok, but only the Vietnamese work here.. we have a small one in the corner of the garden.
