Not so much with my church, but one co op had all sorts (no Jean tears above the knee, no leggings, no shorts that go above the knee while _sitting_ etc) they were almost never enforced and seemed to only apply to the girls which didn't seem fair but okay....

@@MistyshaAnguo It is basically like a giant sleepover for the youth group and is usually held at the church. The term lock-in comes from the fact you usually get locked inside the church after 10 or 11pm

In my youth group, it was a little different. Essentially, we would all just sit in a circle with our eyes closed and if anyone wanted to say a prayer, they would spontaneously do so. Usually done for thanksgiving (literally giving thanks not just the holiday) or confession.

"Complex social politics" of seating arrangements? We only have one rule: guys sit on THIS side, girls sit on THAT side. And if possible, always maintain at LEAST a one-chair separation between. The girls tried integrating once. ONCE. And yeah, I recognize a lot of these (guitar boy)

our best lock-in controversy was that all of a sudden we couldn't find one of the kids, NOBODY knew where he was (not even his brother). the chaperones are searching the entire church for at least 30-45 minutes while the rest of us were congregated in the gym, and finally the pastor goes to call the dad of the kid (thinking he's about to get fired b/c it's his first lock-in with us) and the dad says "oh, he's here at home! he walked home about an hour ago!"

Regarding Unbound: I never did Unbound, but if you are set to start college during this pandemic, please consider other options at least temporarily during this time. It's not worth paying full tuition for an in-person college experience that gets cancelled and moved online. Take a year off, do online community college, do Unbound, whatever makes sense for you.

Right now I have life group on Wednesdays and young adult group on Sundays and I'm pretty much living for those since not much else is happening. I relate to the purple one. I'd get yelled at (good-naturedly) for even wearing purple shirts (my favorite color). Yeah, no purple was big in my youth group. And we have so many couches that we have names for them all and refer to them by said names so we know exactly what we are talking about.

I did go to youth group in my early 20's. Later on, I stopped going. I miss Winter Jam. Especially the West Coast tour. Praying it can come back again with RED, Skillet, Disciple, Seventh Day Slumber, Spoken, Thousand Foot Krutch, LEDGER, NF, Canon, and Derek Minor!
