There's a live performance of Man In The Box that's even crazier, that sets him above anyone else. The last chorus, where he belts more, then he just added even more oomph to it and went higher.

That’s the one I thought he was going to show. I think I have seen every bit of footage there is of Layne.

The entire "Dirt" record and the set they did for Mtv Unplugged were massive "What's my drug of choice? Well, what have you got?"

Have you ever spoken about Them Bones live Tiger Stadium 1996? The scream from that is absolutely horrific in the best way possible

I’ve heard that! One of the best screams of his career. Absolutely mind boggling

Yep, and he was very sick then. That man was untouchable...even at his weakest.

My favorite Man in the Box scream is still, easily - no competition, that one where he started threatening to kick that heckler's ass. And when the song wraps up, he jumps over to the gate to meet him. Lol

I am a diehard AIC/Layne fan...its my son's middle name...I've noticed that you also do videos on older vocalists...you should do a video or two on Brian Wilson's falsetto in the early to mid 60s. He had one of the best falsettos ever and the he way arranged the vocalists harmonies with his brothers and the other boys in the band are unmatched in my opinion to this day in my opinion.

Love this channel and your analysis. Can you do Amy Lee from Evanescence next? I’d choose Bring Me to Life Live version from Anywhere From Home (the opening vocalizations are like a violin) Last note of Bring Me to Life studio version Your Star Lacrymosa Weight of the World

An underrated performance is 1996 Kansas City, opening for Kiss. His last performance. He was on death's door but still sounded phenominal

#1 happened when Mike OD’d right before the show. That was likely a very visceral scream.

Hey, I know it's best to cover the more well known vocalists, but could you take a look at Rich Lombardi from The Sawtooth Grin and the side project Cloacal Kiss? He's a singer who can scream higher than anyone I've ever heard- he cites his main influence as James Brown (specifically the song "Mother Popcorn").

My wife was sleeping so I was trying to be quiet, do you think if I annunciate more and use my vowels better am I on the right track? I basically stayed in head voice this whole song, normally I would sing it in chest voice but it's much easier to navigate in head voice. Any feedback would be awesome Marc, thank you so much!! 😊
