Few things I learned from sonic fox with first match don't know about the rest lol He only switches out when using a super , he's supers compliment so much , he doesn't use super dash unless it's a combo probably cause people know you can punish it with strong/heavy keeps the pressure with android 17 which also keeps him from having to use he's support unless necessary in case they get hurt , locking the opponent in the corner with great mix ups from beerus and lastly buu's ability to approach is just amazing because a lot of his moves bring the pressure as well as close the distance between you and that W 👌

Right there you just press 6A1 or 6A2 (forward + assist 1 or forward + assist 2) during the duration of the super. And then, during the super of your other party member, you can press again 6A1 or 6A2, depending on which party member you called first (if you called A1 first, then press A2 and vice-versa).

I'm so perplexed by all these high level gameplays and I still don't know if I should or not buy this game. The gameplay is offensively amazing and all that stuff, but something like the Beerus' combo that ensured SonicFox the first KO into the second game is just one of the many examples that make me wonder: is there any way to end the offensive pressure? Like, if my opponent catches me with the first hit of a combo that he is able to prolong until I die, what can I really do to prevent my character being basically KO'd by the entire thing? This is not even the first gameplay I watch, I watched several of them and every combo always results unstoppable until it ends (with either a KO or the character smashing the other one to the ground), with the only exception being in two or three replays where the player successfully escapes a combo by dashing towards or backwards, but it looks more like some random opportunity you can find during some particular moves, and not a game's mechanic that allows you to escape a combo. Is there anything I'm missing during these gameplays or the developers really decided to make combos unstoppable, once you get caught by the first hit?

Combos are generally inescapable in any fighting game(unless there's a burst mechanic, which this game doesn't have). Though when the player makes a mistake or is late in the timing then they will 'drop' the combo. You can generally escape combos like those by holding down a button. if you ever feel intimidated by players doing crazy combos, remember there's nothing stopping you from doing the same. Please don't let competitive play like this scare you from buying the game! I'll answer any questions you might have regarding DBFZ or fighting games in general!

I'll go into more detail about your concerns with Beerus: He like, Android 18, is definitely one of the more unique fighters in this game because of the fact that he can use his special moves to extend his pressure(keep the opponent blocking). Sonicfox's opponent, Grover, was having a hard time because 1. He was in the corner(making it easier for sonicfox to apply pressure) and Beerus excels in the corner 2. BEERUS' BALLS. Yes. This is why Grover was having a hard time blocking. When Beerus places the balls it'll generally hit you when you touch it. One way to fight the balls is to use reflect which will push beerus and the balls away. You can also use the homing dash move all characters have(it goes through the balls) but it's a risky move to make when you are in the corner. Unfortunately when those balls are around and you are being attacked by beerus in the corner you'll have to keep blocking. There are other ways to fight this though! It's generally safe to attack Beerus once he does these following attacks: after he kicks the ball, after the lunging palm strike. you can wait for him to make a mistake though like when he whiffs an attack you can then press a button. You can also use reflect while he is attacking you in the corner to push him away and get out of the corner. Keep in mind about the balls though and that he can still call assists to keep you blocking! TLDR version; Avoid getting cornered ahaha

Thank you for the clear answer for what concerns the Beerus' situation in particular! About the unstoppable combos, I have to say that I've noticed a detail about this, which is: by either reflecting, doing that attack like a sky uppercut (can't remember the specific name of the move, sorry) the every character has, or by dashing rapidly et cetera, the game really gives you lots of ways to straight avoid getting hit by a combo, although it doesn't give you any tool to escape them once you're caught. This kinda balances the unstoppable combos, but (in my opinion) only on the theorical side of the fact: I mean, it's true that, if I'm given the tools to prevent my opponent from hitting me, if I do get hit it's by either my mistake or my opponent's skill, so on a theorical plan this balances out the unstoppable combos. However, I feel that this doesn't really balance it on the gameplay, the practical side, because it's true that I made a mistake, but how much can I be punished for a single mistake? Not to mention that, like I think in the most of the games, it's not EXCLUSIVELY my opponent's skill or my mistake that causes him to hit me; also things like a lucky strike during the time we approach each other can make him start a combo (or anything that can make any hit more situational than planned) which makes me feel like it is not completely balanced, at least on the side of the pure gameplay. But this is just speculation, which I think is important in competitively relevant games (such as this one, which goes more into any definition of competitivity than any other DB game imo)

Ok! The most damage you can capitalize on a combo is(if you're a great player!) is about 80%. You are capable of doing such damage too. But mostly the average damage average players dish out is about 20-50% damage. That's how much you can get punished for a single mistake! Let's talk about what happens AFTER the combo though(getting smashed into the ground as you say) . The situation then goes into an 'oki' . It's practically a guessing game. The opponent can either open you up from above or they can attack you with a low or call an assist.. things like that. You have to GUESS what they'll do next. That's the fun of fighting games! And guessing wrong after the oki/knockdown portion punishes you for that unfortunately. If you guess right though it'll be your turn to apply the pressure. Overall fighting games are actually balanced. Skill is a factor but you should also be able to know what your opponent is gonna do!
