I can't believe that I almost gave these away to my nephews a while back. I have probably 1,000 of this series, a full set and all the holograms that have been in a binder for 30 years. A couple boxes worth of full sets as well. Series 1-3, Marvel Masterworks, Jim Lee X-men etc. too. Two shoeboxes worth. Sweet.

Just pulled 400 to 500 of these out of storage 3 black panther and 2 Stan Lee cards they look perfect... The whole set is in incredibly great shape... Not a bad pull 😉

Example Proset football Bill Belichick rookie has been selling for high prices. I could have bought unopen boxes a few years back for 10c on the dollar... Strike while iron is hot.. NBA top shot money will come to the physical world.. Paying 200K usd for a meme... WOW

Just a heads up for folks looking to complete this set: the Black Widow card featured in the background layout behind Hobby Cop isn't authentic since that character wasn't included in the 1990 set, and the Iron Fist card is mocked up to look like it's from the 1990 set but is actually an image that was used for a different series (1991 Impel). They certainly look good, but are nonetheless fake.

I have a Marvel series 2 Spiderman Venom black back 3d hologram orange ,gold, and green colors. I wonder if it would be worth grading? Its been protected in a top loader and penny sleeve since i pulled it out of a pack back when it was brand new.

yes, theres a ton of full sets out there.... The price will drop for sure, but a Psa 10 of the top ones will still hold some value

So did they do different prints of the cards? When you say some are more centered than others i just busted out my set's of the 90 and 91s. All look in perfect shape (and yes have lots of extras) but would like to figure out how to get the right ones graded?! Thank you

PSA just lowered prices, if your not comfortable with submitting , maybe try a 3rd party submitter

So, I bought a box at an antique store with about 1000 1990 marvel cards and roughly 100 look like they could be PSA 10s. It's pretty crazy. I have probably 1500 of these cards and in my other 500 cards I got maybe 20 that could be 10s, so to get roughly 100 out of 1000 card lot is just nuts to me. Potentially they are all $1,000+ cards umm, does that mean I need to send it in at the $75 price point? I cant say to a certainty that they will get a 10, so I would like to send some of them at the cheaper rates. I was going to send maybe 10 in at $75. What do you think?

Yeah if your like me and money doesn’t grow on trees I’d start small... I did 9, so yah 10 sounds great... wanted to get them done and on eBay before there’s a rush then I’ll see about more, have you done a psa submission before?

I own some graded cards but I've never submitted before.

With PSA being shut down for regular services and CSG not offering grading for these cards what do you think about SGC as an alternative for grading the 1990 Marvel Cards? I have the entire set along with the holograms so was curious of your take.

Best service is PSA but price is too high now unless your cards value is in the thousands, SGC is probably next as what’s being accepted by the hobby price and turnaround change based on what service you select, personally for personal collection I like HGA

I think the one good limiting factor with the old masterpiece stuff is that you basically can't take them out of packs or boxes anymore the cards often get sticky and "brick" so the supply of high quality examples is really lower than it seems.

Look over the holos and top characters for centering, once you have centered ones check corners and edges , then those ones I’d consider grading if you feel the market will stay

I see these being relevant for a while The market for graded originals from this 1990 set will be worth the investment for a long time. Pop count is under 3000 for the whole set. Think about that.

The big thing with psa is the delay right now, so worth doing the rush, if not could be there for 10 months plus... I would recommend trying to find a group submitter in your area that will make it easier... luckily I have PSA Canada by me, but there’s a bunch in the states

Prices are going to drastically drop when more people get them graded. I have the first 3 sets that went straight from the pack to card holders but not holding much faith the prices will remain high

I've seen comments like this about highly printed books like ASM 361 that book keeps going up regardless of how many grades/copies are out there. Cards are a new sector that's been realized. Personally I think it's a good thing. I'm just elated I held onto them.

Sell them off quick guys. There are suckers born every minute. The supply FAR EXCEEDS demand. The current generation has no idea just how common these cards are. The print run was insane. Back in the day, these things were selling out in convenience stores. They were not just sold in comic shops. In 6 months they will all go for 5-10 bucks.

@@Magicinternetmoneyandcards - Possibly. My guess is 10 bucks plus the cost of the grading itself. I very much want to be wrong as I have at least 4, possibly 5 boxes of this run in storage. Back in the day, I had an uncle who owned a convenience store and gifted me them for Christmas and my Birthday (which are weeks apart). If I have anybody offer me $1,000 a box, I will sell them right now before reality hits. I have not had any individual cards graded. Most collectors don't realize that most cards in a new box are not 10's due to poor cuts.
