Specialized Venge is what I would've chosen rather than the Specialized Roubaix such as thinking of best of Specialized it is the Venge that i think is up there at tops per se or maybe the Tarmac according to some who love hills, but the Roubaix comes to mind for casual riding such as comfort riding of these three models. I have a Venge and i love it such as when i ride it i have such pleasingly awesome moments how i mean and it gets awesome feedback by individuals who see it along the way how i am referring about. So i am saying the Venge as that is what i chose to buy out of the three and i am enormously happy that i have chosen the Venge and hopefully will be having more amazing moments ahead in my future with the Venge. It is certainly the fastest bike that i have ever ridden and it is certainly one of the most beautiful bikes that i have ridden and honestly it does climbs rather efficiently as well i think and it is certainly a super aero bike of which going up hills and having the aero bike be able to help by being aero is a huge plus too i think and not just for down hill and especially noticeable on windy days how i mean.

A Scott Addict RT in black with Cannondale's head shock system, please! Glad to see disks are front and centre in 2020 ... going to be a very good year. High end hydraulic brakes actually aid a good rider, not only with rapid braking but in added control. The performance advantage over conventional brakes is far more noticeable as the riders weight or overall load increases. I say this based on experience with motorcycles and mtb's. The other big advantage of a disk system are the rims and their superior strength to weight ratio and improved aerodynamic profile. So strong in fact is the rim profile (triangulated), that far fewer spokes are needed to maintain lateral stiffness and integrity. More weight loss. Disk equipped team bikes in Europe I believe still meet the minimum weight requirement of 6.8 kg or thereabouts. Impossible and expensive for a few, but a single front disk wheel, replacement carbon fork and a change of lever, will still make a big difference to your riding and they look great. Said me piece on the subject. Just wish seats could be made to measure via an electronic imprint of sorts, maybe a mould. Pulling my shorts down and sitting atop a photocopier is probably not a great idea. Thanks for another mouthwatering video.

I think that $2900 usd for the first Domane that comes with 105 is utterly insulting. I ride a trek emonda SL5 right now (and enjoy it very much), but my next bike will most certainly be an orbea or canyon in a couple of years.
@bengt_axle5 жыл бұрын
If you look at new carbon frames, one important trend is that there are no longer holes for hoses and cables. Disk brakes have allowed frame manufacturers to route hoses with sharper bends (e.g. behind steerer tube). This simplifies the manufacturing process of frames because it eliminates having to make different frames for mechanical and electric derailleurs, while at the same time saving some weight and increasing reliability. But the problem is that it does not always look good, and if there are cables (instead of electric wires), they won't function as smoothly.

Conversation with customers about $12k bikes. Customer: $12k, that's a car Me: not to the person buying a $12k bike
@11robotics5 жыл бұрын
Exactly the sort of rotten mentality that allows bike manufacturers to ask increasingly stupid and unjustified prices for bikes, even for lower-end ones. I admit, the cycling industry was quite late to the ultra-aggressive capitalist market party, but they're there and they're making the most of it. While the average customer, for whom those $12k are the money they make if they work hard for a few months, has access to crappier and crappier bikes regardless of the price range. I am astounded how some 2500-3000€ road bikes of today are as heavy as and sometimes even have heavier wheelsets than 1000€ bikes from, say, 5-10 years ago, while 5000+€ road bikes are sometimes even 1 entire kg over the UCI limit when 5-10 years ago most bikes in the 2500-3000€ price range were roughly as heavy. Not to mention how easy it was to find Shimano 105 and at least a pair of Mavic Aksiums on a 1000-1200€ bike, while now most of them come with Tiagra and cheap ass wheelsets weighing way over 2 kg. Progress my ass... all the trends we've seen in the past 5 years were ways to milk more money from people for whom $12k is worth nothing, and who don't know and don't want to know anything about what really makes you go faster on a bike. And now we all end up paying the price for them. Electronic groupsets for idiots who cannot turn a barrel adjuster once or twice a year, disc brakes for people who can't be arsed to properly install a pair of brake pads, aero bikes for MAMILs who want to look cool during their Sunday rides but already have the Handbook of Cycling Excuses open at the right page when bonking on a 1 km hill. All because somebody finally realised that performance road bikes could appeal to people who are more interested in showing off than in actually cycling.

100% inflation over 5 years in economically stable markets? You must be kidding. The overall inflation in the EU between 2010 and 2018 has been of 14.6%, according to Eurostat data. Shit might hit the fan pretty soon in the UK though, Brexit and all... Not to mention groupset and wheelset prices have stayed pretty constant or even went down in the past few years (if we're looking at the exact same models). Bear that in mind as well...

@11robotics5 жыл бұрын
@@dsdf_fdp1858 I would compare regular prices instead of discounted ones, as discounted ones depend a lot on luck and trends, and also the number of choices you have for those price tags. 5 years ago, you had quite a large choice of alu bikes with Shimano 105 and decent wheels you could buy for 1000€ or less. Now there are fewer and fewer, Canyon and Rose being pretty much the only ones who offer the same bang for buck. And PlanetX, but they're in a different league altogether. The problem with the 1.500€-2.500€ range is that yes, you *still* find quite a lot of good bikes with rim brakes, decent wheels and great groupsets (105 or Ultegra), low weights and nice designs, but also more and more overly heavy and less well equipped disc-brake road bikes. And as more and more people bite the marketing bullet and buy the altogether inferior disc brake bikes just because they are trendy, the rim brake bikes get pushed out of that market. The offer gets adjusted as a response to the demand, even if the demand is based on irrational decisions. So you see, the same way more manufacturers stop doing high-end rim brake road bikes, in 5-10 years' time they will stop doing mid-range rim brake road bikes as well, and some might abandon them altogether.

I agree. For some, its the satisfaction they get admiring the bike off the saddle and reading marketing literatures and reviews (like this one) to reaffirm justification of his choice/expenditure. To some, it is the joy of sweating, panting and suffering on the saddle. For this group, you really don't need to spend the money the big manufacturers lure you into.

If I had that kind of money, i'd happily buy top end stuff. Again, why not. 🙃 Saving up for years just to afford a top of the line bike is another story, and you can certainly have fun on a cheaper bike.

@@HollyBoni I agree with you too. In the end, its all about personal satisfaction. How you spend your hard earned money is absolutely up to each individual. Gladiators Cycling Club GHANA I’ve gotten things for cycling because of the “cool factor”, as long as it is within my budget and I acknowledge that is my reason for purchasing it. One major reason I am not a fan of expensive bikes and part is, I’d be so angry if it broke.

Realy Nice bikes, though I do miss the new Wilier SLR in this top 5... And wouldn't it be considerable to list some tops of more affordable bikes in their specific areas and categories? I do think many of us would be thankful... Also rather little brands, such as Basso, Sensa, Guercotti,.... don't even get in the show....Anyway, keep up the bike reviewing...

The only thing I can think of spending 12k on other than my road bike is another 12k on my Mtn Bike. Why hasn't anyone mentioned the Factor O2, a super fine machine indeed.

Sometimes times i feel top 5 does not depend only their high price or specs, it is more depends on how much the got to endorse top 5.

Road bikes are becoming more expensive with these aero and disc designs that have no real advantage on the road, compared to the advantage on our wallet. Adding to that, now we need to take the bike to a shop for simple tasks like adjusting brakes!

New bike have real advantage if you are a competitive cyclist who count every second.
@andrefigueiredo62845 жыл бұрын
@@user-hi1xc3pn1e disc brakes only have some advantage if you're riding on wet conditions, beside that it's just extra weight and extra drag.
