Sandisk extreme pro 2000 mb/s SSD is better than the T7 right? also, the portable SSD comes with usb c to usb c cable so I can just use that when connecting the iPad to the SSD, is that correct? no need to buy a hub?
@JoshuaTimothy2 жыл бұрын
The 2000mbps Sandisk isn’t necessarily better than the T7 1000mbps, just faster. Editing will be the same experience for either drive. Large file transfers between the drive and your iPad’s storage will be quicker with the Sandisk, but those faster speeds usually come at a higher cost.

Great video. Short, to the point, clear understandable audio AND it doesn’t start “Wazzup guys?” One question though. I don’t have an iPad with usb-c (yet) and have to use a dongle to use my SSD, both for connectivity and power. With a newer usb-c ipad, there is no need for an external power supply?
@JoshuaTimothy3 жыл бұрын
Thanks John! Ya USB C supplies enough power to run the majority of devices. I can use a USB hub with a SSD, connected to a monitor with HDMI, and other USB devices at the same time.

Thanks for asking this John Huron. I was going to ask Joshua the same question. I’m using a 2nd Gen iPad Pro & have to be attached to a power source to use my hub or even a thumb drive. Great video and just learning about the power available with the USB C’s was a great find. Now, you mentioned Thunderbolt, does that also make unnecessary to hook to a power supply?

Late to the party but I like that case and how it slips over the keyboard. The reviews on Amazon talk about interfering with the smart connector a bit though. Have you had any issues with the iPad not attaching correctly? Do you still use it 7 months later? Thanks.

I have not had any problems while using the iPad, but I have had the case interfere with charging every once and a while. It’s not a case I leave on all the time, I prefer the slimmest profile possible, but I do use it if traveling or editing videos at a park. Then I can have all my accessories with me and not hanging off the usb c port. So it kind of depends what you would want to use the case for. I use my iPad without the case a lot more than with it. I hope that helps.

thanks, do you have a video comparing the file rendering after editing in Lumafusion? want to compare if there are significant performance from an iPad pro vs iPad air 5 vs iPad 9th gen (10th gen once it comes out), thanks

I don’t, but all the newer iPads are really quick. I have the iPad Air 4 with the A14 processor, and it is smooth for editing, just a slightly longer export time, but not by a whole lot. Which ever iPad you get though, make sure to get 128gb or higher, preferably 256gb. I had to return my 64 gb iPad Air because it kept running out of space.
@johnwick8602 жыл бұрын
@@JoshuaTimothy thanks, I agree that the 256 GB is the sweet spot, I also plan on buying a 1TB SSD (either Crucial X8 or Sandisk extreme E61) in case I consume the 256 GB... will go and buy the 10th gen instead, rumor has it could come with either the A14 or A15

@@johnwick860 you will need a USB-C port to be able to edit off of the drive in LumaFusion. So right now that’s only the Air and Pro. You will not want the 10th Gen if it still has a lightning port. File transfers over lightning take hours for video.
@johnwick8602 жыл бұрын
@@JoshuaTimothy 9th gen has lightning cable, the upcoming 10th gen is rumored to have usb c... if it doesnt, I'll go for the air 5
