I saw that you had a mic in the top cold shoe mount of the cage. But what really struck me was the obstruction of the flip screen caused by the mic being in the top cold shoe mount. That’s a deal breaker for me.

Is the external mic adaptor used to attach an external battery pack?

I don't have one attached, but I'm sure you could because it does also have a USBC port on it too. I have noticed I tend to have connection issues on my computer when running through the mic adapter for transfers, but never when charging.

There is not one in particular built for it, but from my experience it works on everything including this Insta360 flow cell phone gimbal

With you on the catagories (if not the brands). i went for the Ulanzi cage - one cold shoe on the side means that you can use the screen unobstructed. Speaking of Ulanzi - I've been using the Ulanzi GO Quick II quick release mounts with my go pro and other insta360 cameras which give a nice quick release system - I've put one of the 1/4" screw thread bases onto the Ace Pro quick mount so I can move any camera onto any mount with a quick button press and twist - no more undoing the bolt on the fingers to be able to change mounts between systems. I'm wary about those multi mounts - probably because I had a cheap one years ago which didn't perform that well for me. One selfie I do like is the Telecin 10000mAH battery powered Selfie stick - compact enough to stick in a (largish) pocket but extends out to 90cm and can power the camera a whole day plus. have you tried gaffer tape on the back of the remote? Not done it myself either by tend not to go into water with my gear that much. But yes, the Preview Remote is far easier than using my phone to set up and control shots.
