Hey ike love the videos. Got a question the ponds and resivours i fish have clean water but dark water due to the sediment on the bottom never muddy. Ive seen videos on using bright colors in dark water at the same time dark lures for contrast. When or how do you decide to throw something bright to something dark and vice versa?

Thanks Ike! Great content as usual. I just bought some square bills this last weekend from Tackle Warehouse. It was really annoying that they don't stock the rattling version of Strike King's square bills. I want my square bills in craw colors and in bold matte colors (i.e. chartreuse black back) to have rattles. It is also disappointing that I can't find the rattling version of the Strike King Shallow Diving Square Bills anywhere anymore.

So mike here’s the deal . Yur one of the “cool” hip anglers who likes to challenge the norm. I know yur sponsors pay the mortgage but don’t be so bias on baits your sponsors use . As a viewer the sponsors mean nothing to me. I know you’ve tried all the latest stuff from all the vendors out there to keep yur edge in the sport . I want the advice which says you’ve tried spinners baits from strike king, revenge, war eagle, river to sea, etc etc and why one bait is better than another . This way I know yur not pushing a bait just because yur getting paid for it. Yur legitimacy is lost with this technique. Thanks man .
@stevevoelker27334 жыл бұрын
You don't acquire sponsors and talk about other brands. That's just foolish to suggest he do it. So Jesse here's the deal. Ignore the brand and apply the principle to your preferred brand. If you don't have a preferred brand look for anglers you respect that are not brand specific. Tactical Bassin' is a great place to go to get recommendations for lures across all brands.
@jesseshumaker27184 жыл бұрын
@@stevevoelker2733 Yah this is the hardest part to swallow when trying to get advice about what baits to use. Yes, I definitely take the underlying general advice, ya have to, And yes tactical bassin performs the best in providing non biased advice. Although as of late I'm sure they have river-to-sea as a sponsor due to the heavy recommendations I'm seeing around using those baits and the fact that they made their deep diving crank with them. Anyways, when you see the bias on lure selection over and over again and it's influenced by sponsors the advice yur given on baits isn't as trustworthy. There's a jerkbait video out from KVD (it might be on bass-u) and he endorses strike king obviously and when someone asks him what his thoughts are about the megabass vision 110 (the highest producing jerkbait of all time) he pauses for a second and gives some fancy speech about the stronger qualities of the strike king jerkbait to try and cover, well knowing the megabass vision 110 beats the hell out of a strike king jerkbait. anyways this is just a grip of mine in the fishing industry. I'll get off my soap box now ha :)
@nutechlures61304 жыл бұрын
you did not mention water temps, and that my friend makes a big difference. in cooler water temps, often times none of your five baits will work, and bass are often 15 to 20 feet deep. the lonely "doodle" aka ned will catch these bass. another sleeper is a split shot french fry, and a gitzit. neither one of the baits put off a lot of vibration or are bulky. bass still eat shad in muddy water and find them quite easily and the shad to not change color. so, with that thought, perhaps color is not really that big of an issue. bait size is quit often a big factor in catching muddy water bass. and to end, fishing the correct depth at the correct speed to trigger a strike are always at the top of the list in triggering a bite, whether fishing clear or muddy water.
