I like the barrell craft pick. I remember when everyone complained about their $85 price tag but they have held at that price level for a while now and almost seems like a bargain these days. We could easily have a best of the year list and it be all BFH bottles as they have all been great.

Knob creek 120 proof store picks have been great as always. The third Bookers this year is a beast at 130 proof. I haven't gotten a bottle yet but middlewest is getting good praise everywhere. They are featured on The Bourbon Hunters podcast regularly

I gave up on hunting allocations a couple years ago when I realized I don't have anywhere near as much free time or disposable income as other folks around here. I shifted my focus towards the newer/craft distilleries which can still be a hunt and deliver the thrill of finding something on my list, but way less competitive. For now, anyway...

Underwhelming in hype but not in taste my friend. I’d put these 5 up against past lists but that being said, I do agree it’s a down year for the legacy distilleries but that takes nothing away from how awesome these pours are. Cheers!
