You are confusing people. These are electronic cutting machines. Not die-cutting machines. Die cutting machine use metal dies to cut paper as the name suggest. And you’re trying to be an experts…?

Some people need a life! I think some go on sites just to downgrade them! What a lowly life you must live!!! There is such thing as a die cutting machine without metal dies! May not be in your eyes but then what do you know other than downgrading companies that make these machines for crafters so they don’t need metal dies to take up space or flying all around, when you .can copy the dies and are able to cut the exact thing out by computer and the cricket, brother, silhouette, etc.

Great video! I do think there should be some clarification on the machines you're reviewing. Most of the machines in this video are not 'die' cutting machines. They are cutting machines, but do not use dies. The bigshot you review is the only die cutting machine in this video. The difference is the need of a die itself. A cutting machine will cut a design from your computer/program and a die cutting machine only cuts dies. Dies are metal shims in a specific design which cut out paper in that design. The dies are put on paper and then put between shims (making a sandwich) and run through a machine which squishes the sandwich, causing the metal die to cut the paper in that design. There is no computer or program used with a die cutting machine.

The Accuquilt is also a die cutting cutting machine. Dies (I am a die maker) are also blades imbedded in wood or plastic, with foam on top...then the fabric is placed, then a mat. Rolled through the rollers and the blades cut up into the mat, actiing like scissors to cut the fabric. Blue Wren make die in Australia that can be used in both Accuquilt and Sizzix.

I disagree with your top pick. I have a maker, and from everything I've seen and read since getting it I should have gotten the silhouette cameo 4. You can cut thicker materials, less waste, better design software, and it's on your computer so they can't take features away like cricut threatened to do last year. Cricut has also been trying to nickel and dime their customers more and more aggressively since they announced they were becoming public, so it's just not a secure investment

I have the Sizzix Big Shot Plus and I love it and have used it a lot to make cards, earrings, and to emboss with my embossing folders. It's a work horse, and it's a simple machine to set out and start cranking away to create great craft projects. This year for Christmas I decided I wanted to tackle the Cricut, so I got a Cricut Maker for Christmas. I have been doing card stock projects as they are the easiest to tackle if you are a newbie with Cricut. I did cut some fabric shapes already, which was really easy. This feature alone is going to save quilters a lot of time. You can also cut out fabric quilt pieces with the iron on backing so you can have instant applique pieces to complete projects with. I love both my machines, the Cricut Maker and the Sizixx Big Shot Plus.

I have three "Cry-cuts" also known as Cricuts. LOL I have the baby bug, the expression and the special anniversary edition expression. I have only about 30 cartridges and still use them, but for the past few years use the metal manual dies... plate warping is horrible on my Gemini Jr and I am looking into a manual machine now.. yes, I rotate and flip my plates on a regular basis...

Good video the only thing is that only two of these products are Die cutting Machines. The AccuQuilt Go and the Sizzix Big Shot. The other three and cutting machine you can not cut dies with these machines. The Cricut Joy and Maker and Silhouette Cameo are wonderful cutting machines but they can not cut Dies. Two different types of products used for two different purposes. They have some other really great die cutting machines out there used for cutting dies. It would be really cool to see two different videos. One for cutting machines and one for the die cutters.

What’s missing in this review is if other vinyl products not produced by Cricut won’t work with maker. It will actually make your maker go slower. As with the cameo it is compatible with other brand vinyl/ products and work just the same. It may not be as quiets as Cricut but it gets the job done with out slowing down and it’s versatile to materials used!

"Con Sizzix big shot doesn't have a mobile app" I would Imagine that a MANUAL machine that doesn't even use electricity would have an app. Ps: to the people in the comments saying that the cricut and cameo are not die cutting machines, they are while they might be sometimes advertised as "vinyl cutters" the broader term for that type of machine is a CNC Die Cut Machine the confusion is that it's not a set die cut pattern used in a clicker die setup.

Here I thought I did enough research on cutting machines and paid for a brother scan and cut. I was so sure that was the machine I wanted and easier to use, I was sadly mistaken, it’s a pain to use. I wish I had I had gotten the cricut maker. I still may seems they are on sale.

I did the same with the Cricut Maker 3. I prefer the Silhouette Cameo 4 for the stickers I need. Cricut has a size limit, whereas the Silhouette does not. The Maker is great for other projects though.

With the cricut maker you can’t scan but you can screen shot what you want and import it into the software then cut.

But you see with the people who have commented on the pronunciation of Cricut.... another example is the vehicle known as Subaru. Australia calls it Suba-ROO which is in opposition to New Zealand's: Su-BAR-u. And depending on the country, you will be corrected. This might be the case here? I wanted to throw something at the mispronunciation of Cricut, that was really annoying. This is a poor cross section of available Die Cutting and Embossing Machines and very Cricut oriented. All in all, a very biased and lazy attempt at reviewing the available options. What about Spellbinders, Gemini, Go Power and Emboss and Brother Scan n Cut to name but a few.

They cut templates, dies of different things, vinyl, plastic and wood, etc. maybe not a thick die but to use for cards, signs, shirts, cups, plates, door mats, etc! Their are different types of die cutting machines. Naturally you would not use these in a factory setting!!! But for crafts, some have businesses! I use mine for card making! Personal use and for our Church Card Ministry for Shut-ins, Service Men and Women, Missionaries, and Church Staff. I design the card, cut the pieces for the cards then our Card Ministry Group assembles them! Those that receive them just LOVE them! And the Glory goes to GOD! I use mine to Glorify God!
