+49erdigging The trip was amazing. I know big trips like that aren't something everyone gets the opportunity to do for various reasons. We both made saving for the trip a priority and spent a couple years working decent, but not career-type jobs, saving and planning. Even then, we did everything as cheap as possible (only free camping, $5 a day meal budget, no big extra expenses, etc...). The whole trip cost around $5,000 for about half a year of amazing sights. I know some people can spend that much on a 10 day vacation. I hope you get the chance to make it happen some day!

@roadesontheroad7 жыл бұрын
That all depends on what kind of work you would like to do. There's fast food almost everywhere, seasonal help on ranches/farms, seasonal work at parks/forests/etc... it all depends on what skills you have or what kind of work you're willing to do. Some places may be better for you than others.

how long can you stay at a free campground
@roadesontheroad8 жыл бұрын
Most of the free camp sites have a 14 day limit. However, most of the areas are big enough that after 14 days you can pick up, move a mile down the road and set your camp back up. It's awesome! You can pretty much live on public lands indefinitely. They are all of our land, after all. Just take care of it, keep it clean, and don't cause problems. You'll have no problems.

Man, the comments on this video are very frustrating and annoying. I think the video was good, it got my attention, and not only did it make me watch the video, it got me to go to the website. I sort of get what people are saying about the vagueness of locations in the video, but surprise, one click and I'm on a page that has a map of the locations...This video is from 2015, and I'm here watching it in 2017. I'm definitely interested in seeing more. I believe you're trying to drive traffic to your website by not giving away the whole cow in the video, but maybe be a little more specific as to the site, and then have directions to it on the website? Maybe that's already happened since we are almost two years removed from this video, but I enjoyed it guys. Thanks for the information. My wife and I are becoming full-timers this summer. Maybe we'll see you around.

@roadesontheroad8 жыл бұрын
+Stephen Fryer 1. We saw a lot of campers in many of these places. There were places, I wouldn't have thought to take a camper but some people with beefy trucks seemed to manage just fine. 2. Wait a minute...you guys camped in every free campground in the US and deduced that the best ones are west of the Mississippi??? PLEASE change the title to something more accurate. How about Our Favorite Free Campgrounds.
@roadesontheroad7 жыл бұрын
It's almost like subjectivity is implied. We live east of the Mississippi and while there are some nice free places to camp in the East, it's hard to match the sheer quantity and diversity in the West.
@usmc2msu2137 жыл бұрын
Um no...not when you state “in the USA.”
@roadesontheroad7 жыл бұрын
+USMC 2MSU Bud, these are still the free campsites that we think (or at least thought at the time) were the best in the USA. It's not something that anyone can ever say are objectively the best. Like what's the best pizza? I'm sure you have an answer but it's not some objective universal truth. These are the best free campsites in USA according us, which should be assumed because it's our channel. If you want to disagree, that's fine. Tell us your favorites. It's a discussion. It's all for fun. We didn't title the video to ruin your day.
@usmc2msu2137 жыл бұрын
Roades On The Road, I get that. I just hate titles that are meant to get clicks and I think there are better titles that are more accurate. I get it though. I just think it discredits your channel and doesn’t make people want to subscribe. Most people aren’t looking at your actual channel background to know what you’re about or where you live. They find your video because of the title and it leads to a let down if it’s not accurate. Just trying to give constructive criticism. Sorry if it came off the wrong way.

I think you sat on the cranky-old-lady-rant generator button too long and forgot to uncheck the gratuitous punctuation option. But seriously, get help. This is a silly KZbin video. This is a website where there are literally videos of Spiderman farting on Disney princesses. If this video upset you so much that you couldn't move on with your life without hexxing us with marital collapse, perhaps KZbin just isn't for you. Certainly our videos are not. And guess what. That's okay! I don't watch quilting videos. Doesn't mean I think quilting KZbinrs should be thrown into the streets. We can all live our lives knowing we can like the things we like and move on from the things we don't. Don't watch our videos. We won't mourn the loss. Create something better, if you're so inclined. But don't be pleased with yourself for poorly trolling strangers on the internet. You aren't great at it.
