Muhammad Haziq Bin Zulkefli well as every enthusiast says there’s some no such thing as a gaming keyboard. It’s all just a marketing term. Most enthusiast keyboards normally have things like n key roller, cherry switches, and even rgb lighting. Gaming keyboards just look gamery. That’s all.

I prefer design over anything and the gaming keyboards just look better most of the time. Like the G513, it has the best design of any keyboard I have seen yet. Aestethics are very important and many of those keybaord you see especially on r/MechanicalKeyboards just look ugly and like they are 30 years old already. The new Huntsman Elite is also really nice looking
@muhammadhaziqbinzulkefli1177

ass eater i see. Nevertheless, it a successful marketing term and some gaming keyboard do strive for a non gamery look like the hyperx pro keyboard. Question, you said every keyboard enthusiast said there no such thing as gaming keyboard, why do tech reviewers still address them as gaming keyboard aside from a marketing term? Is it because some of them are not enthusiast?

I know this list is meant for serious gamers who are willing to spend more for a keyboard , but if you are a kid or just a casual player who doesn’t want to spend that much, look into the Redragon K552 KUMARA keyboard. It is very small and compact, no numpad, and has MX Blue equivalent switches. At only $30 on amazon, it’s a great deal. The con is that it has only red backlight. If you want a rgb on you’ll have to pay $15-20 more. But overall it looks like a great deal, and if you’re on a budget then you really should look into it

Agree. Razer Huntsman is far better than K95 because: 1. Razer optical switches are rated for 100 milliion clicks while Cherry switches are rated for merely 20-50 million clicks. 2. Huntsman has better design, more minimalistic look 3. Huntsman has etter wrist rest 4. Corsair keyboards (K70/K95) have issue with space bars that wobble just too much 5. Huntsman has a lag-free switches thanks to the optical technology 6. Huntsman has better RGB.

The Logitech G513 is my keyboard of choice because of the amazing centered RGB and the clean look across the board, in which I don't use Media or Macro keys. I also went to Best Buy to try the Linear switches, and they felt amazing. I recommend the Romer-G Linear if you like a smooth keystroke. The Tactile ones felt pretty good, they feel very similar to the Cherry MX Brown. The GX Blues were average, I would prefer the Cherry MX Blues if you like the Click. The Wrist Rest is also very comfortable, I'd say more so than The Razer Huntsman Elite's Wrist Rest. I recommend this keyboard 100% if you like the nicely Centered RGB lighting, and the Clean look across the Board.

For the Logitec g513 I would really suggest a AutoHotkey skript that lets you use the media buttons permanently without having to press "FN", while all the other function keys (f1-f8) work just normally. Cause in the software from Logitech you can only revert all the FN keys at once.

@@danielrobidoux I agree it might not of been the best comparison but it is mostly true, razer do produce high quality products but, in the case of the razer huntsman elite being $199 for opto-mechanical switches, dedicated media keys and more rgb doesn't add up to the price. This price reflects the 'flagship' status and the new optomechanical keys

Recently picked up and have been using a few keyboards, two of which were on your list... 1) Logitech G910 Spectrum Orion RGB (Romer-G Linear Switches) - overall a decent keyboard and the keys are actually quite nice. A little on the heavy and large size but packed with features, and the RGB shining through the keys looks really vibrant. 2) Corsair K70 Mk.2 RGB (Cherry MX Silent Switches) - another nice keyboard but be wary of the sharp corners if not using the wrist / palm wrest. Construction seems better than that of the Logitech but I couldn't really get along with the font or the over-"wobbly" space bar / space bar sound. Yes, even with the silents it was a bit too loud. 3) The keyboard I've decided to keep - HyperX Alloy Elite RGB (Cherry MX Red Switches). The construction of this one is definitely industry leading and a beefier rest would be the only suggestion I'd make. Also doesn't suffer from that space bar wobble as much as the Corsair offerings. In terms of weight, the Logitech was heaviest - around 1.55kg, with the smaller HyperX only just behind at 1.45kg. The Corsair was the lighter of these three, being around 1.25kg, with these latter two weighed without the wrist / palm wrests attached. Also to point out that the volume scroll wheel on the HyperX Alloy Elite is actually metal unlike what was mentioned in the video, and has slightly more resistance than the other two keyboards' wheels I mentioned.

My microphone often picks up on my keyboard when typing, so I assumed I should have a silent keyboard. However, I am also planning on getting an arm so that it stands on my desk. I guess I’m asking how well it will pick up my keyboard sounds when it is suspended on an arm, considering that vibrations through the table are possibly the reason why it’s so loud.

Its 61keys solid RGB waterproof, with Gateron switches are audibly and tactilely satisfying to press; now I like them more than my cherry browns right now, although I really liked those too. Specs-wise I thought I'd like the Razer but the keys were over the top too clicky for me. Plus I'm not a fan of the soft wrist pad. I have a K95 platinum with speed switches and I find it crazy good. The only complaint that I have is that it's only available with speed and brown switches, which is pretty bad for a top tier product. I'd love to try the Huntsman Elite but I think that if I had to choose between the two I'd rather go for the K95 just because it has everything that the huntsman elite offers (except for the rgb sides and wrist rest, but that's not a big deal for me, even though I'm obsessed with rgb lighting) plus dedicated media keys.

Thank you for not just saying "get a Blackwidow". I understand that it's a good keyboard however, there are certain things that turn me away from it. So I've been looking for more off-brand keyboards as I really want something different. Also, I agree with you on how Razer should introduce new types of switches for the Huntsman line (hopefully a linear version) which would definitely make me consider it.

I wanted to like the corsair more. not being a razer fan but those purple switches are perfect they feel incredibly and the key layout, size, and concave fit me the best. The razer after trying all these keyboards out is my favorite. Also after trying out all the best mice I couldn't get over how perfectly the mamba elite fit my hand! I was not a razer fan before and actually wanted to go against the grain but wow what a perfect combination. I still think corsair makes a good mouse but would go with the LG keyboard for my second choice.

I honestly don’t like Razer... the huntsman elite is ok but I’m a much bigger Corsair fan, and I really don’t like how it’s sounds so incredibly loud it’s just annoying, and the wrist wrest rgb is just too much. But I do like the media controls but not having any macro keys shouldn’t make a difference because at that point I just feel as if it’s too much

Really nice keyboards. I prefer my Logitech G Pro Tenkeyless keyboard. Ended up getting one because I never use the numpad so it was somewhat of a waste of space for me. That’s just my preference though. If I ever wanted to get a full size keyboard, I’d definitely go with one of these.

I don't really think the huntsman elite should take the number one spot. the only things it has going for it is good rgb, media keys, and a programmable wheel. Other than that, the switches are actually slower than cherry speeds, I know your not a linear switch fan, but I just think coming from a statistical approach, it shouldn't be number one. Also, I think there was a lot of bias there because I saw a razer mouse and mousepad on your desk.
@Brainbean
@Brainbean 5 жыл бұрын
Zyquaza Gaming the speed of the switch doesn’t necessarily make it a better switch. Lots of people don’t like fast switches, myself included. The Switches on the Huntsman elite (A4Tech optical) have a really good design and feel very solid. Also as I’m sure you saw next to that Razer mouse and mousepad on my desk is a Corsair keyboard so your accusation of bias doesn’t make much sense.

Hi, I'm just wondering about why I can't find the k-board of my dreams. The only reason I buy gamer KBs is to have backlighting, which I really need. Believe it or not, I actually type. (Likewise, I also actually make calls on my cellphone !!!) Why on Earth can't we have backlit keys AND bluetooth !?. I've noticed all 5 KBs you've reviewed (very comprehensively and professionally, I hasten to add) are wired/USB. I suppose, with both features, the battery charge would be depleted relatively quickly, although an electric car these days has a very good range. I'd also like the option of not having a number pad, as I've never used one.
