2:34 I think the Declasse Tornado is based on a 1958 Plymouth. Known as Plymouth Fury if you know the movie „Christine” the killer car. Chevrolet Bel Air was made in partnership or something(atleast thats what I think) between Chevrolet and Plymouth, or maybe they just got the rights to the pattern.

it's a 57 bel air with a 58 bel air front. the 57 has that curve little more then halfway back and the rear lights kinda give it away. plus declasse is a gm brand

Because they were just going to sit and rot in a field or junkyard somewhere anyway. Too many people claiming they're going to finish their project for 40 years and then they didn't. Or they were so far gone, going custom with them is usually cheaper and more practical/interesting than trying to bring it back to stock. I can keep going on.

It's not ruining them to us. We just wanted to have low cars (I'm speaking for the Chicano Lowrider Community) and because of racist ass laws, we couldnt use sandbags or cut coils anymore so we installed gate hydraulics to these old cars, and the rest is history.
