Title is quite accurate. Yes the 9000 prestige is the older model. He lists it as still the best even today. It is. Norelco newest prestige is a step back. Cutting costs while charging a premium. As most companies do. If you can still buy the older 9000 prestige with the round heads it is the best money can buy, even today

The new prestige motor is a little faster, shaves quicker, glides across the face somewhat easier. The old prestige blades are no longer manufactured. Luckily they can be replaced with the same blades as the new prestige. As for the hexagonal heads, the trick with getting it in difficult places behind the ears or under the nose is simply to rotate the handle 90 degrees. Results are great. While both shavers perform similarly, the new prestige provides an ever so slightly better shave overall in my opinion - although it is impossible to be objective when shaving is such a personal individual experience. Is the new model worth the premium price over the old prestige? Definitely not. Unless money is no object, consider the older prestige or one of the other 9000 series.
