To me, this is the greatest war film ever made because of how realistic it was on D-Day. Many veterans can’t watch it because it triggered their PTSD. These men truly were the Greatest Generation ever! 🇺🇸

why u said that ?? they are great coz they fight for idiots that starts the war ?? is their sacrifice make them great ?? its so sad that many of us belive that dying for fucking politicians or greater case make us hero.... i respect people that sacrifice themself but i wish that we just fight with politicians that lead to this all fucking conflicts

I don't usually like the whole greatest, best, etc labelling but I would agree with you on this one. I've seen alot of good war films but this one affected me on first watch the way no other war film ever did. And yet I have a friend who won't watch this film based on the fact he rejects the premise as too far fetched ie that a squad would be sent to retrieve one soldier. I feel sorry for him, he has no idea what he's missing and yet he loves Band of Brothers which is pretty much the same thing as this, go figure....

@@EddieTheKing369 in one go? I've probably only watched it in full maybe five including when I first saw it as a new release in the cinema when I was 18 in 1998. That's another reason it's particularly memorable for me though cos I rarely see films at the cinema, the last film I saw at the cinema was the matrix reloaded in 2003 and that didn't make half the impact this did.

War does not determine who is right only who is left.
@maxm265618 күн бұрын
Upham was a translator or typist or something, basically an admin dude. He wasn’t meant to see combat. Hating is easy when you’re not in that moment. I can’t imagine how terrifying that must have been for him. I don’t think that happened often, but if it did happen those guys deserve credit for not deserting.

Yes it's stupid but that's cos it's a blanket censor on any expletive in any film, they don't sit down and look at each film's content that's why the irony. And you don't really censor graphic violence anyway, you only put warnings at the starts of films and this isn't the full film it's just clips.

But lets not have the truth get in the way of a good story.
