Very glad to see the attention to Sinn. They are excellent tool watches. Well done.

What do you think about stowa the marine and Antea lineup?

I do like the antea although admittedly very close to the Nomos Tangente. If you are looking for style in that price point hard to go wrong there.

Totally agree. Really, really love Sinn & have the EZM-3F in my collection. The German, and particularly the Sinn aesthetic heavily influences a lot of my own work.

I love the Sinn aesthetic. My personal favorite is actually the 356. I like no-bezel chronos, and the 356 is within my size constraints (sub-40mm). Something about the hands and dial being both functional yet elegant is compelling.

A Sinn 103 will be my next watch. At 15.5 mm thick it doesn't slide under many dress cuffs. But I don't wear dress cuffs everyday.

The 103 is great. Too big (and tall) for me, but it is undeniably an attractive piece. I succumbed to wearing a shirt and tie every day, so unfortunately it could not be a daily wearer for me for that reason too.

Very nice review , thank you . I find that as I become more far sighted that watches like Tudor/ Omega 300m, which incorporate into their design such a high contrast dial , thick hands and indices really becomes a key practical consideration in which watch you choose to be your daily wear. The Nomos is beautiful.

Great point! There is always the question of form vs function. How important is legibility in the design of a watch? Not always a straightforward answer..

The "St" in Sinn 103 St and 104 St means "Stainless Steel", indicating the material of the watch case, not "street", and is certainly not pronounced "street".

Cant get the BB36 on bracelet under 2k , and, it will only fit up to a 7 1/2'' wrist from the factory, unfortunately .Nevertheless , great picks!

The bracelet does cost more I think, I usually go by grey market prices too. They serve as a good benchmark between dealer MSRP & used.

I paid 2350 from Jomashop . The factory bracelet was only 6'' . Big time disappointment for me

I own a Ludwig Automatik. So much watch for the money. I have been eyeing the Sinn, but the ETA movement inside the case kinda put me off.
@TheCriticalGentleman

I love the Ludwig. If I were in the market for a Nomos, that's what I would get (or a neomatik nachtblau). I only chose the Tangente for my top 5 as it seems to be a bit more versatile and was Nomos' premier timepiece for a while. You can't beat the value. I share your feelings about Sinn. I love the designs, but for that money there are other timepieces I would rather have.

I do kind of agree with you, but Sinn does use Top Grade ETA on all their watches and I believe they regulate them as well. I think for this price range you can't get an in house movement with this quality, I do wish however they would offer in house movements though

If only the black bay 36 was 38-39mm would have been perfect :( 36 I think is too small for a tool watch... And I guess it's because of the lack of brand history/pedigree I really don't like nomos.. I've tried to but I just don't :/
@TheCriticalGentleman
@TheCriticalGentleman 7 жыл бұрын
They just announced the black bay 41! That might be more your speed. Nomos can be a hard sell if provenance and pedigree hold any weight. They also have a pretty polarizing design. Not really much for the non-minimalistic folks. I happen to like them but, then again, I don't own one. So interpret that however you like ;)

I tried on the 41 and it wears too big, 38-39mm would have been perfect :(

For my stature ,and the size of my wrist ,watches from 34 mm to 38 mm are the best for me, so I want to have a Nomos in 35 mm or a Black bay 36, they are just the type of watch I like and, like You say, its size is perfect. The fashion of giant watches is not going to suit me at all.

I agree completely. I hope the trend returns to favor more classic sizes.
