Have you looked at any non golf specific waterproofs?. the new marks and spencers goodmove range trousers look tidy.

I've yet to find any quite like golf waterproofs, but admittedly, I've done more testing on the jackets than the trousers so would be great to try out some more trousers too. I feel like there are less places for trousers to differ compared to normal jackets vs golf jackets as long as they've got decent range of movement so you might find some good options.

Other than the Sunderland which has Velcro straps at the bottom which I assume you can use to “hike up” the legs and then the Velcro straps to tighten the material around your legs, do any of the others have a similar feature? Short fellas like myself that wear trousers with a 29 or 30 inch inseam are always given short-shrift with waterproof trousers with legs that are much too long to be anything other than a nuisance.

Both of the ProQuip pairs do too! They've also all got a trouser length that goes down to at least 30" inseam if not 29"

@@GolfShopOnline I'm certain that all the trousers are at lest 30", as that is the shortest they could possibly be. The problem for me is that they are always well OVER 30", and there is too much material at the bottom, which sometimes gets caught on the sole of my shoe. What I need is a way to *shorten* these rain trousers that invariably have 32'-34' inseams I was hoping that the Velcro at the bottom would allow you to fold and secure them at a shorter length. In the past (and I mean 20 YEARS AGO), FootJoy bragged in adverts that their rain trouser inseams were adjustable, but when I went into several golf shops to ask the salespeople to show me how to do it, NOT ONE of them knew.

@@GolfShopOnline I should be shocked that a better variety of inseam lengths are available than are offered in the USA, but when I think about it, it *IS* the UK after all, where extremes in the weather are more common. The only 29" rain trousers I was ever able to buy was 20 years ago from a firm in England, that is no longer in business.

I have the footjoys. They are shit. Water gets in through zips. Complained about them and got told they would have to send them off to footjoy for testing leaving me without the ‘waterproof’ trousers for 2 weeks.

FootJoy do require faulty products back for warranty testing and quality control to ensure it's not a recurring fault that needs fixing in future but this would be something they would replace or credit as faulty
