Hello all I am here just to share my story of my girlfriend that I absolutely love. I am a teen still in school and plan to go to college for automotive engineering. My girlfriend was born without most of her left arm. Because of this, she gets bullied at school. She grew up in an abusive dysfunctional family which she no longer lives with. She tells me occasionally how much she wishes to have a second hand. She hasn't been able to do many things in life because she does not have a second hand. Every Time she tells me how much she wants one I die a little on the inside. So one day when I have enough money saved up, I plan to tell her we are going shopping but take her to start getting a bionic arm. I plan to work my hardest in in school, work, and college so she can live happily.

I lost my left hand at the wrist in 2007. I have an I-limb. It's not perfect but I just wanted to thank everyone with R & D. Although a bit stubborn at times I can feel my hand but there is nothing but the prosthesis. The mind is incredible. Adults act like I have a diease but kids are great. I don't care I feel whole again, thank you and God Bless You all!@

I designed a completely dexterous prosthetic hand for myself 30 years ago, before 3d printers. no one wanted it. I showed pictures to a danish robotics researcher and 2 months later everyone around the world was printing their version of the design! later I came up with a flexible subminiture linear encoder. several have tried but no one has been able to copy it yet. Works good with a glove and hand combination.

Its not as difficult as they like to make you think as most of these devices are made with cheap servos and the hands themselves only cost a few hundred to make but they charge 50 thousand or more to people who need them and cant afford it.

However if you've looked by how much we've advanced through the 21st Century, we already have these things, robotic legs (which also have a working Achilles heel, which is needed for proper walking and adjustment to go up stairs), and nearly have a breakthrough with allowing blind people to see things fully (so far I believe it's only blue dots)...I'm sure by the next 5-10 years we'll have fully working limbs. It's only a matter of time before we ourselves start becoming more and more machine (which will be quite the change of events and evolution as a species :)
