I am actually reading the Diviners right now, and it is such a pleasant surprise! As I did not like Beauty Queens I was very sceptical about picking up another Libba Bray book,but this one is something else entirely. I just adore it!

I'm so happy that you loved An Ember in the Ashes so much! I read that book for the first time this year as well and I LOVED IT!!! It took me by surprise how much I loved this book and how easily it became a favorite book of all time for me! A Torch Against the Night is amazing and I hope you love that one as well.

I've never been interested in John Green's books but the more I hear about Turtles All The Way Down, the more I want to read it. I'm hoping it will help me understand my own anxiety a little better, which is the main reason I want to pick it up

That's the only part I liked about Turtles. I have anxiety too, and the quotes about OCD and anxiety were so good, amazing representation! Though the plot sucked for me. I gave it 2 stars for the anxiety representation. Hope that helped :)

Yeah, I'm not interested in the plot which is why I'm still on the fence about reading it. It's about them trying to find the son of a billionaire or something, right? I couldn't care less about that part

Yeah, it's kinda funny because I got the impression that Green didn't really care much about the main plot. He definitely gave more attention towards the mental illness parts of the book which IMO completely overshadow the weak plot and pacing issues. It's not even 300 pages so I'd say give it a shot or at least borrow it from the library. :) I would've liked it a lot more if the billionaire plot wasn't in the book.

I totally can relate: Every year between September and the first half of December I'm in the worst reading slump because school and just life in general get SO BUSY. But the good thing is that Christmas is NEARLY HERE :) so happy reading holidays to you all!

I'm so happy you read An Ember in the Ashes and loved it!!!! I also read it first for a class, I was in a library assistant class and my final project was to pick a book and create something from it. I picked AEITA, read it on Friday, and immediately went out and bought the second book so I could keep reading it. I agree with all of your thoughts on that. And I also loved Turtles! Although I don't have a mental illness, I still struggle with aspects of anxiety, and I too could relate to many portions of the book. Loved the video!

Awesome fall reads!! Woman at Point Zero sounds really intriguing and I’ve been wanting to read The Diviner’s forever! Turtles All the Way Down and Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda are also fantastic!! And don’t even get me started on An Ember in the Ashes bc I LOVE THAT SERIES!! The first time I read the book I didn’t appreciate it enough so it was a solid 4 stars, but I gave it another chance and wow I’m so glad I did bc it’s incredible fantasy (and books 2 and 3 are equally amazing) I’m dying for book 4!!❤️❤️❤️❤️

I just marathon read The Diviners series for the first time for the Tome Topple gradation last month and I absolutely LOVED it!! I think they are such phenomenal books!! I can't wait for book 4 to come out to see how it all wraps up!! I'm also getting ready to read An Ember in The Ashes as well so I'm so glad to hear you loved it!!

Tome Topple *readathon* Book 2 of the Diviners is still good, but my least favorite of the 3 so far. I still really enjoyed it, but book 1 and 3 are fantastic!! So if you find The Lair of Dreams a little slow, stick with the series bc Before the Devil Breaks You is amazing and Lair of Dreams is still great on my opinion, just my least favorite of the 3!

Turtles all the way down was my first read of December and I loved it! ❤️ I identified with Aza so many times and sometimes her thoughts (like the fear of not being real and suddenly realizing that you are real and gonna die some day) were so similar to mine! I started questioning my mental health and no other book ever has affected so much to me!

I absolutely agree with your review of An Ember in the Ashes. Such fantastic world & character building by Tahir. You really get swept up in it and I lost track of time in the real world. I read this book in one sitting and read the A Torch Against the Night the very next day & pre-ordered the 3rd. You won't be disappointed in the sequel!

I'm not sure I ever read ten books in a year when I was in college so I'm still proud of you! I also loved Turtles and Simon this quarter, but my favorites were the Grisha trilogy and Six of Crows duology. I'm super late to the game on those but managed to not get spoiled, and couldn't put them down. I totally understand now why you love Kaz and Inej so much. :-)

Simon Vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda is a really cute read! I enjoyed it, and I’m looking forward to the movie too. And I definitely want to read The Diviners at some point since I’ve heard nothing but good things about it!

I love how instead of trying to make it sound like you read 30 books a month like a lot of youtubers you are just plain honest and go: I have to study and I have a life. 10 books is still a great number. And it is! It's a pretty damn good number. I hate when people are like: Yeah, I read 8 books this week... and when you go look at their vlogs they listened to 8 audio books in double speed while doing a million others things instead of paying attention to the book. Audio books are great. But reading is not a race. That doesn't really count for me. That's why I don't manage to read as many books as I want and my TBR pile is huge: lack of time. But I'd rather read three books in a month and actually read them than just go for the numbers. Quality tops quantity everyday.

Honeslty just the fact that you read books at all during that first semester of uni is impressive! Also, I spy Graceling, Fire and Bitterblue in the background... Did you read them?? May I ask why you reread Divergent? I reread the trilogy last year, and it was so painfull to do, I hated it even more than the first time... I'm so glad you read An ember in the ashes, I love it so much, I can't wait for the third book! Also, that must be so cool to study it in a class! Thank you for the amazing content!!

I just finished reading a torch against the night and I didn't enjoy it at all compared to the first book which I loved. :( Though I thought it picked up towards the end so I might still read the next one haha

Guess I won't read Turtles All The Way Down since I read a book about a girl with OCD, anxiety and PTSD in the past and it was so triggering that the night I finished it I had nightmares and woke up to a panic attack, plus it put me in a blocking mode that just 2 years later I've began to read books again

Totally agree on 13 Reasons Why having 2/5 stars, because while I really found interesting and necessary that someone discussed such an important topic in a YA, I didnt like the writing (but maybe it was because I was too in love with the TV series)

Currently reading Turtles all the way down and while the plot more or less interest me, the main character and her narration is already very dear to me. It is a bit triggering though; felt dizzy a few times reading it.

Both the coment section and the creators are all mostly female, Could you talk about that in a future video maybe? like why do you think that is, im curious...

In my experience girls are generally more avid readers and will make their love of reading/books more known. This is probably because of many reasons but to keep this short you end up seeing more female readers on KZbin and goodreads and such as a result
