Nice list. I've shot every one of those guns but I'd move the Schofield to the #1 spot just on the basis of coolness and authenticity. The two Colts, Python and the Peacemaker (although I much prefer the "Duke" edition), are pretty much a tie as far as I am concerned with the Peacemaker having a very slight advantage due to the fact that I am a fan of vintage guns. Every one of these are fun to shoot and, except for the pocket gun, very close in accuracy. Nice video giving a little attention to a neglected group of pistols.

Seems a shame that the Webley Mk VI didn't even make the list. As well as being a great reproduction of an historic firearm, the pellet versions shoot accurately and ti comes in a range of barrel lengths and finishes. It's a fine addition to any collection.
@biggusdickus5986 Жыл бұрын
Totally agree, l have 2 one in 177 pellet and one in 22 pellet they are both very powerful and accurate the gun is a natural pointer. I'd say the peacemakers l have are the most accurate and l get 130 pellets to a co2 bulb which is more than twice the other guns.

Great list. My original Colt Old Army blue finish finally broke a spring. After 10000 plus (yes10000) shots the bolt spring broke. I had a replacement from Umarex within the week.

The Crosman SR357 deserve a place on that list.

i own an sr357, the grip slides off so easily that sometimes you'll pinch yourself with it, and the hammer feels so damned clunky, not to mention it's very top heavy. don't get me wrong though, it's hefty, sturdy, and feels pretty badass to wield. it's just not as good as say the crosman 1875, build quality-wise.

I own both the Schofield and Remington Model 1875 as well as both versions of the Webley MKIV Revolvers. I am proud to own all of them, but in a comparison where authenticity, quality of construction and performance are measured, the Webleys are, in my opinion, superior in all such criteria and they are not even given an honorable mention in your top 5! Inquiring minds would like to know why????

#2 and #5 are my favorites. The Schofield is an amazing bb shooter. My SAA is rifled and it also shoots great. If you have a Schofield and haven't bought any pellet cartridges for it, do yourself a favor. That smoothbore with pellets will outshoot the rifled SAA. Even though it's not my favorite can't disagree on the 715 being the top gun. While the craftsmanship is good on my Schofield and SAA the DW is just quality through and through.

I agree with you. I have number 2 and number 1. Only they all have a weak hammer spring. And quickly break.

Great job Jacque! All those pistols look fantastic. Great air pistols for a western movie, nostalgia, or theme party wardrobe addition. Here is my request for the next Top 5: Quiet budget hunting air rifles? "Yes, I want it all and I want it now!" roll the song!! LOL. Quiet: easily backyard friendly for all concerned about their neighbors. Budget: Under $400 no scope or PCP pump. Hunting equals: 50 yard range of smack down goodness, accuracy at 50 yards, and .22 caliber, obviously. You might have to wait a little to include this years Shot show soon to be release offerings. Is there a break barrel that qualifies?
@gtwolfe1005 жыл бұрын
Wow. Those would be nice guns. But wait! Hatsan Flash and Umarex Gauntlet. Both quiet, accurate, have the power (Flash generally tests about 100fps faster than the Gauntlet but you can modify the regulator in the Gauntlet to get more power), and are $300 rifles. Want to go really low? The Diana Stormrider 2nd Gen. Super quiet and I have taken several squirrels out at 45-50 yards with the 1st generation version of this rifle, but it is no where near as quiet as the 2nd Gen which has several other improvements including an excellent adjustable trigger. Try $200 street price. As far as break barrels there are a few that I have shot but the big key with break barrels is learning the individual rifle and the hold for the rifle you buy. I have a friend with a Hatsan model 95QE Vortex in .177 and have seen him take numerous squirrels on his ranch at 60-80 yards with that rifle. But with break barrels it is as much about learning to shoot the rifle as it is about the rifle. Just don't get suckered into the "magnum" guns. Most trade away accuracy and easier shootability to get the higher power output. A .22 break barrel with a quality barrel and shooting at about 825fps or better will get the job done. But for my money and for ease of shooting I'd go pcp every time.
@gmanneod80855 жыл бұрын
@@gtwolfe100 Thanks for the great information. Flash and Stormrider look like possibilities but Gauntlet is way to heavy and long to carry all day. Any idea on if the Benji Maximus or Fortitude Gen 2. fits the bill and how do they compare to the stormrider? What kind of power is needed for Mr racoon at 50 yds?
