Florida Water. My favourite cologne ❤ It is so reminiscent for me. Some frames of memory from my childhood... Summer nights, a cup of sweet tea with a slice of lemon... I can smell there hint of the Vietnam balm that my grandma used to preserve me from mosquitos and after those mosquitos have already bite me.😊

Appreciate the attention to this unjustly neglected category! My 1st 2 fragrance purchases, aged 14, were Dana's Canoe (which was then, still "made, packaged & sealed" in France 🇫🇷 ) and Chanel #5, which, all these years later, is still my favorite formulation. I also prefer my beloved Guerlain scents in the edc, Habit Rouge, Shalimar (still made) and especially Mitsouko (although I also love the extrait, especially if vintage). I agree @ 4711, I always used to keep a bottle in my desk at the office. You know, you can also get the little individual "towelettes", perfect for the purse! 😊

Funny you mention 4711 towelettes. I was just talking to a neighbor about these yesterday. He said he has not used fragrance since English Leather in the 1970s. I told him I would give him a sample and shared how old it is and how he might enjoy it on a hot day for cooling purposes. I love you and get these so cheap!

N°5 EDC was a favorite . It was more powdery and meant to be used generously. Back then I used all one range of ancillary products. Now I intentionally mix them up. I liked N°19 back then too (still do).

When you showed the dark Hermes I wanted to grab Eau Noir (omg then you pulled it soon after!!!). Also my Chanel SA told me Eau Cologne is cheaper I think $10 or $20. This was about a 2 weeks ago. However maybe it changed since? 😩

In the US the les exclusifs eau de cologne costs the same as the les exclusifs eau de parfums since this year but in the EU the edc is still cheaper than the edps. 💖

My favorite cologne is Eau de Gentiane blanche, its melancholic bitterness enchant me, matching the gray green colour of the bottle. My second favorite one is sadly discontinued in America, Jasmin Angélique by Atelier Cologne; the angelica in it is out of this world. The third one is 4711. I don’t know why, but its first notes always hint to me at the scent of Froot Loops 😂. I splash it all over my cheeks, neck, décolletage and arms, wearing long sleeves, and this way a light bergamot floral linger all day. I want to try the other ones you mentionned. Thank you for this review, and I totally agree with you for the return in fashion of colognes. They are so elegant, and a nostalgic part of grooming. Vive les eaux de Cologne!

Dacob, the Chanel Les Exclusifs EDC was always priced the same as the rest of the range. The only other difference was that there was also an available 400ml size

That is incorrect. The les exclusifs eau de cologne was always priced lower than the les exclusifs edps. The 400ml splash version of the edc was also available as 400ml edp splash with a refillable mini spray for their best selling les exclusifs perfumes, including sycomore, coromandel, gardenia and beige. The les exclsuifs eau de cologne has this year been given the same price as the les exclusifs edps but only in the US. Google is your friend Theresa, check the chanel website, switch to any European country and compare the prices for yourself. You will notice that indeed the edc is STILL CHEAPER than the edps in EU countries. I don’t know why people keep making these assumptions that I am somehow wrong here before checking the website and countries correctly?

16:20 Tina Farina is purportedly the OG cologne from Cologne. 4711 happens to have better marketing and hence more well known globally. Allegedly. I have both and there’s a slight difference to distinguish the two. 😉
