Great video, perfectly fair to mention the specific prices on all of the bags. Value is an important piece of the puzzle as a consumer.

You’re awesome! Been watching & loving your vids for a long time. I’m in love with the Squatch Lore bag. Especially the Gibson colorway you’ve got here. Perfect size. Compact with plenty of space. I will upgrade my Grip to a Squatch in a year or two. 100%

I have an octothorpe on the way (very excited), but I am a big grip fan. I’ve used the AX4 for years now and have quite a few gripes with it however, one of my favorite bags ever (for what it is) is the G-Series Grip Bag. It’s such an incredible use of space and perfect to fit in luggage when traveling. Meant to carry only around 10-12 discs. As you start reviewing more bags I’d love to see your opinion on that bag. Love the video 🙌🏽.

If anyone's looking at a Simian but is concerned about the lack of rainfly, the Ridge Roller rainfly fits the previous model of Simian well. The new version has extra/wider side pockets, but I think, but can't confirm that it would still fit.

Great video. Are you able to share which other bag brands you have used over the years? Have you tried Bergs Bags
@Viridisk Жыл бұрын
Hi! I have not tried Berg bags. The brands I've used are Prodigy, Grip-Eq, Latitude 64, Dynamic Discs, Squatch, Pound, Gorilla Boy, Innova, Revolution, and European Birdies.

I’m not sure if you’ve seen but Pounds new shoulder straps are no longer stitched on, at least for the haul. I think that’s a big enough reason to maybe differentiate it from the Thorpe? They’re also interchangeable now
@Viridisk Жыл бұрын
Pound and squatch both make removable shoulder straps. But, the comfort isn't the same due to the placement of the load lifter strap. Pound puts the strap in a position where it makes it a bit more comfortable to wear than Squatch.

Thanks for doing this video! I've been trying to decide whether to get the Grip EQ ATS vs the Pound Rufus, but I think I am going to end up getting the Grip bag, since right now I can get it for $183.99 on Ledgestone's 20% off sale, and it comes with those 8 mystery discs, so that sounded like a steal to me. Not sure if the Pound Rufus is $100 better, but curious to know what you/others might think since I've heard great things about their quality products. Also, I am coming from a DD Combat Ranger, which I am currently holding 22 discs, so I think the Grip bag will be easier to transition to haha. The Squatch bags do look tempting as well, but the Ledgestone deal seems too good to pass up for me.
@Viridisk Жыл бұрын
You're welcome! I'm glad the video helped. The ATS is a great bag, and at the price, with the mystery box is a great deal!! The Rufus has a subject $100 value over the ATS. The $100 is mostly due to American made and very high-quality craftsmanship. Yes, everything in the DD Combat Ranger will fit comfortably in the ATS. It might be laid out differently.

@@Viridisk It's so difficult to pick a bag these days, with so many good products out there now, so I greatly appreciate your reviews on your channel. Perhaps one day I'll bite the bullet on getting a Pound bag, but I would probably lean towards getting an Octothorpe instead of the Rufus, but that will be a decision for future me.

Why would the Haul be lower than the thorp? Seems to be the same bag Haul just has bigger side pockets?
@Viridisk Жыл бұрын
The haul actually scores the same as the Thorpe. But, since it's from the same company, I didn't want to include it in the list. If I had to pick between the two, I'd pick the Thorpe due to its smaller form factor, and it feels less bulky on my back when loaded.

What was it about the Rufus that fell short? I’ve owned pretty much every bag except Pound and decided to give it a shot with a F2 Pound Rufus.
@Viridisk Жыл бұрын
The Rufus putter pocket is what made it hard to make this list for me. It didn't hold enough putters. The asymmetrical side pockets also made it difficult to use for storage since I would have to put any extra items that I'd need (big or small) on TOP of the water bottle. The main compartment opening was just a tad narrow for me. Overall, if it wasn't for the new Lore from Squatch, I'd still be using the Rufus. But when it comes to comparing gear on the market, I have to give credit where it's due. Squatch pushed the Rufus off my list because the Lore is so much more versatile in that bag size category than the Rufus. It's still a good bag, but it's not great when you consider what's available on the market.

@@Viridisk very fair and well thought statement . Tomorrow or sometime this week I’ll be getting my Rufus to test . I’ve seen the lore an try o in person . I was shocked by the build and quality for a loop

@@Viridisk Ok, so to start iv'e always leaned on the more minimal side of bags. One of the bags I used for almost my entire time playing is the UPDG Shift. Its ultra light , comfortable , affordable, and is well thought out. Where it lacks is sufficient storage during rain or winter rounds as well as im not fond of having a bunch of disc exposed. (not being able to zip the side pockets all shut) Now the Rufus....WOW! At first being that there is no bottom stiffer I felt a immediate sag or like a real gravity sag. The comfort is on par with the shift. I love the simple elastic band to stow the retriever or umbrella . It is very compact very easy for plane carry on or am trak. The storage solutions is perfect for what I've been looking for! The disc capacity is what I've been looking for. I got a factory 2nd as It was a little more affordable to get me trying the pound bag. All in all it very well become my daily bag. I even ordered the rain fly. Very impressed with this product so far.
