Disney has nothing to do with Japanese animations. Therefore it was never an anime. Although Disney holds the distribution rights to English versions of some english dub animes and films. Disney is responsible for the English releases of most of the Studio Ghibli films.

I'm surprised that myth about Walt being an anti-Semite isn't on this list. After seeing Family Guy beat that joke into the F-ing ground so many times, I eventually decided to do some research on it (and by that, I mean a quick Google search) and found that it simply isn't true. Basically, back during the 40s or 50s or whenever, he briefly allied himself with a powerful social and business group, but then later found out that the group had a strong antisemitic belief and quit. Unfortunately, it was too late and the word had already gotten out and damaged his reputation.

FYI: when NBC acquired football again. They wanted the best play by play man to call the games al Michaels. He was employed by abc (owned by Disney). So Disney traded al michaels for the rights to Oswald the rabbit.

Ub (rhymes with sub) Iwerks not only designed Mickey, he drew him 1000's of times in his first few cartoons. Other animators drew backgrounds and some supporting characters but Ub alone drew Mickey. He was also a mechanical genius and went on to work with Disney on special effects processes and theme park attractions. Without his pioneering use of primitive Xerox technology 101 Dalmatians could never have been made. .He also recieved an Oscar nomination for his work on Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds".

The number 3 was so funny to me XD I personally love Donald Buck and I live in Finland. Last summer I met an animator on The Little Mermaid at a comic con like event. He told me the guy who drew the image was absolutely washed up and thought it would be his way of “sticking it to Disney” as a last FO. So I’m not sure about what the video says unless that’s been the official answer because it’s more wholesome. Regardless, I believe the animator.

I knew all of these were myths, but you forgot a huge one, which is the idea that Walt Disney was anti-Semitic or a Nazi sympathizer. Not only did he hire many Jews (including the Sherman Brothers, two of Disney's most prolific songwriters), but he also was hired himself to make propaganda cartoons during WWII. And what about that cartoon that depicted Donald Duck as a Nazi? That was one of the propaganda cartoons--Donald has a nightmare about being a Nazi, and when he wakes up, he's glad to be an American.
