Black swan clearly is about eating disorder too. Nina barely eats, makes herself throw up, obsesses over her body. Every scene we see her eating, she panics over food ("thats way too much" she says to her mother after she cuts her a little piece of cake), or eats very little. I think they did a pretty good job representing ed in this movie by not showing it clearly, as ed are often really discreet. Not every ed movie has to show some people purging all the time, or refusing food in a violent way.

Girl interrupted was more about borderline personality disorder. It had parts with eating disorder screens but not everyone with BPD had an ED either.

I have BPD and I was anorexic in my teens, but yes, of course the two are not inextricably linked. Idk why they chose that movie, or "What's Eating Gilbert Grape" or the "#1" movie, which I couldn't for the life of me figure out what it was even about...

@@Stardust_7273Also have BPD, I have had bulimia since I was 16, im turning 31 in april. I'm in some rehab-shit now that I don't really wanna go to, just the gym we have 10-11 on fridays is fun. Work practice sucks ass and it's only 9-12 one day. But everyone thinks im good now. Nah just turned the alcohol and razers for my beloved Mia-monster, and I now go swimming so can't cut anyway. But tbh idc anymore. At least im losing weight fast so fuck it. I don't share that I have bulimia with anyone, family knew back when I was 18-21 or something but not now. Having an ED is very common with BPD-ppl but I do agree, like this list was horrible, Girl, interrupted is good af but not really an ED-movie, tbh only To the bone in this list is anything close to it haha came to get trigger-movies and i'm disappointed af 😂😂😂

No one in girl interrupted had an ED not even daisy. She just had major ocd which made her only eat her father’s chicken.

​@@KricksWorldGlad you liked it. It's the one I felt the strongest connection with. Because it was a made for TV movie in the 90s, most people overlook it. Tracey Gold brought her own experience with Ana to the movie, which is what makes it the most realistic ED movie...

@maya 2 out of 5 movies are about eating disorders I'll grant you that. However, when you want to know movies about this topic, shouldn't ALL movies actually be about an eating disorder? Dark swan, she's schizophrenic. Girl Interrupted (is about BPD. I can think about those three actual eating disorder movies, (that are on KZbin) off the top of my head. For the Love of Nancy, When friendship kills, Dying to dance.

They're not all necessarily about EDs but they all features characters with either explicit or implicit Eds (e.g. Black Swan's Nina has anorexia/bulimia, Girl, Interrupted features an anorexic patient, the mom in WEGG has extreme BED, To the Bone is obviously specifically about EDs, Life is Sweet I can't speak to as I haven't seen it
