75 Ranger Regiment is not special forces, it’s considered a light regiment. It’s highest level conventional regiment in the US Army before Special Forces. Most Special Forces come from the Ranger Regiment.

The 75 Ranger Regiment is a member of SOCOM so it is, but its not. Their combat training is equal to that of the navy seals and they're used for special missions only, but they do not have unconventional warfare training like that of other SF member.

The Ranger School is for leadership training, but if you finish it you get a Ranger tab which does not make you a Ranger. Only those few with a 75 Ranger Regiment tab are Rangers.

@@Belgian_Boi Talk about a late reply lol. With regards to Britain, they’ve **always** been regarded as having the best light infantry in the world. British intelligence and training has always been unmatched and highly regarded across the globe. A former Russian planning directorate actually said in an interview once: “Britain has always had the best light infantry in the world, and the bastards get places faster than we would like”. He emphasised not only particular units in the British army that are are of concern to Russia, but their training and morale too. One Russian even noted that “these days, the Europeans have armies but no soldiers, while the British have always had soldiers” - he actually used the word boets, which really means something closer to “warriors”. It’s why the U.K. has always been able to punch far above its weight. It’s a small island with far less manpower, so quality has always had to come before quantity. There have been many instances of medals awarded to British soldiers, a few during the Iraq/Afghanistan war, where they have single handedly held their ground against 30+ insurgents. Countries with large armies, comprising mostly conscripts would face the same reality; 1 British Para/Gurkha/Commando could comfortably take on 10-15+ conscripts. The Falklands war in 82’ highlighted this. The Argentines brought around 2000 conscripts for the invasion, and the British retook it with only 600 soldiers on the ground and a single naval strike group.

No they shouldn't do a bit of research The royal marines not the us marines have the longest toughest and physically demanding basic training outside special forces anywhere in the world. If you don't believe me look it up and research it. The legion is very very tough but they're not quite up there with royal marines. I think k they should be 2nd or third...

yeah it's cheaper and a bit slower o0n the load,but it makes up for it in accuracy and reliability, i've never had a stoppage with my l85, plus it is much easier to clean i find than some other rifes like m4 and such, though that may be because l85's are standard issue as you said

Gruppa Vympel (Vityaz) selects from VDV as well as a few of the other FSB units and KSK units, but Gruppa Alfa and GRU then hand pick from Vityaz as far as I know, all of this is largely unkown as Russia keeps a VERY tight lid on it, officially GRU was also disbanded but i doubt that

The Royal Marines are not special forces, the further elite units within them, as I have stated are not, although, they have tough selection (required tours, must have had experience with RM units [BPT] etc). The Royal Marines are prime contributors to the SFSG yes (in means on manpower), but the SFSG is 1 PARA, as 2 PARA have worked with the SAS/SBS (more notably in Operation Barras). 1 PARA of the parachute regiment is SFSG, the US unit of this type is the 75th Rangers who work with Delta etc.

The GAU-17 is chambered in 7.62x51mm Nato. But we do have .50 cal miniguns and believe me, you know when one of those starts firing, something is getting messed up.

Was wildly popular, though it did ride on the fame and glory of the FAL. So, tl:dr, depends on what job you want to do which should depend on what gun you use. I think I've seen a few Brits toting U.S. built M16s and M4 and Canuk C6s around before anyway.

The SBS (Special Boat Service) have sent advisors to the SEALs in the past, The SAS do what the Delta Force, Green Berets, Rangers do all in one unit. The Royal Marines could be comparable to the SEALs especially in training, and for the Royal Marines, they must do three years of service before even thinking of SBS selection.

Hows that when the Abrams hit the T-90 twice as often. as the T-90 even got a chance at shoting the abrams. besides that the next generation Abrams the M1A3 is soppose to have an intergrated auto loading gun and better reactive armor on it. so the US is adding armor and a fast auto loading gun to an already vertually indestructable tank and you got to remember the US uses depleated uranium rounds that can cut throw the T-90 like a hot knife throw butter, so the Abrams is slightly more advanced

They are officially a spec ops unit. They are the Army's Special Operation Light Infantry Unit. That's why they're part of SOCOM.

They are not Special Forces and they have only been part of SOCOM since 2006. They are consider Elite light infantry, they are a direct action raid force and have been for over 200 years. There are also US Marine regular infantry regiments that are also trained in Special Operations and they are not part of SOCOM.

yours and or para regiments sound very similar although dont take as much credit since they haven't been around for as long (comparatively), but our history has shown that we can face a 10-1 challenge and win, and its probably the same with your paras but in my mind since of our very successful history and success rates, and the amount of fights we've been in with so few men its still rmc all the way

In theory Rangers are=(Marine infantry) as with Britain (Marine commando) however in pratice particularly in Vietnam Marines were the soldiers of choice when bailing out SOF units in that they tended to fight with more tenacity!
