Ricky Oyola’s style is very underrated in my opinion. That one clip in eastern exposure 3 after he Nosegrinds some crusty ass steps and pushes into the street and does a perfect backside flip on flat in front of a car and immediately starts pushing switch is one of the greatest things I’ve ever seen

I wouldn’t say he’s underrated if your on the east coast. And grew up in that era you will most likely know and respect him. But I definitely agree with the fact that a lot of east coast pros weree getting over shadowed by the west coast.

I understand Chris's final words on style being separate from innovation. A lot of the highly technical innovators (Chris Cole, Rodney, even Andy Anderson himself) have pretty stiff, rigid style because their focus is elsewhere so they don't really prioritize feeling or flow as much as analysis and precision.
