Out of season- (April to Dec) stay in Canasvieiras NW corner or Ingleses. More furnished aptos in Canas as cheap as $30 a day. Lots of pousadas and small hotels in these areas too, they usually include breakfast

E ainda mais, Florianópolis tem um dos melhores atendimentos de saúde do Brasil. O casal do vídeo não conhece a ilha nem como as coisas funcionam nela. Falaram muito em segurança. Morei 29 anos na ilha e nunca assisti alguma cena de violência ou passei por algum perigo. É extremamente segura. Mais que qualquer média cidade dos EUA ou Europa. Venha para o Brasil e encante-se com nossa terra. O único perigo é você não querer voltar mais para sua terra natal. Abraços do Brasil.

SUS in govt healthcare and free for you but some private clinics seem better- like Amor Saude $5 a month and $6 to see a DR SUS does have some Emergency hospitals that are very good, it's just the normal clinics that are understaffed and poor.

A lot going on in the north part of the island, that is where most people live Island has great nice new buses and easy to get anywhere. Takes 40m from Centro to the N Island direct then you can take another bus to the east side 15m Canasvieiras and Ingleses, Canas has more going on, restaurants and furnished pousadas and small hotels Best to some April to Dec- off season $30 a night, IN season you can spend $100 a night

Me too, I live here in the north part of the island - Ingleses You did a good start but there is so much more to see on the island Lagoinha means ''small lake'', so obviously Lagoa means lake Hiking and standing on those high pointed rocks ARE VERY DANGEROUS. You mis-step once and you are done for, best to wear a motorcycle helmet when on or near those rock formations, fall w/o one and you're dead Since you are from the cold, you can adjust to the COLD OCEAN waters here. I am from Florida and they are too cold for me long term Mocambique beach is just north of Barra da Lagoa and it stretches probably 10 miles to the NE corner near Santinho where there are smaller dunes Next to that is where I live - INGLESES, the NE island To the west of me is Canasvieiras, a very touristy town that fills up with Argentinos and Uruguayans in the summer I really enjoy downtown CENTRO of the city near the bridge too. Lots to see and do, shop for and eat. Been here 3 years. Lot of english spoken here too Restaurants are 25% more $$ than in the north and not as good Lived in the north of BR a lot longer - Recife and Joao Pessoa Make sure you check out the beaches of Maceio Alagoas just south of Recife, looks like the Bahamas
