Dear. I really enjoy your channel, and take very seriously your advices. I’m old timer surfer, and a regular local simce 1975. I’m watching your chapter about Florianópolis. Since I came here for the first time, we realize that outside of the island that where the great waves are. I will mention just the of the best:1) Guarda do Embaú (easier the best) 2) Praia da Vila ( Imbituba) 3) Silveira (Garopaba). Besides Peru and Chile, the #1 is the best surf spot of the whole continent. Ah, I’m a goofy. Cheers…

It´s our main surfcity. But if you´re to explore a bit more raw nature and consitant waves, you´ve got to try Ubatuba (north shore of Sao Paulo). Nicely done mate!

consider changing up your camera angles and views while surfing? Mostly just see your arms, deck of your board and alot of jerking around. When you were at Chicama's it was a bit frustrating trying to get the feel and look of those lovely waves with all that jerky motion. ! Not complaining just some friendly advice from a long time surfer who likes watching good surf vlogs...your intel of the places you visit is very professionally done and fun to follow...stay stoked! Hey John! Yes, I totally agree with you. GoPro footage sucks, unless it's barreling. However I travel on a budget by myself, so getting someone to video isn't always an option and I'm just making do with what I have. I'm looking at ways to get some front-on footage for some upcoming trips though which should make for some better videos!! Thanks :)

@@DanHarmon123 dont change a thing. for it to be smoother you would just have to stand there and do nothing, going in a straight line. anyone that does turns on a wave with a go pro is going to get a lot of different angles.

Nice mate, looks awesome, I loved Brasil. I surfed w my local mates in Rio I'd met on the Gold Coast in Ausie. Those beachies defo have some punch, even at 2-4ft, really fun...I live at Coolangatta, so yeah we get some megga crowds here lol 😀🤙🏄🏄🏄🌊🌴

Nice virtual trip around Floripa! Never been there, would love to though. Once you mentioned the spelling, Moçambique spells just like Mozambique. In portuguese it's the exact same name. Keep posting!

I would like to surf in Brazil, but am afraid the waves aren't as big or strong as in Philippines or Bali. :( The waves on the video look good but short.

Definetly aren't. Im from BR and never surfed Florianopolis, but I do know Ubatuba and Sao Sebastiao. We got 99% beach breaks, 1% point breaks and 0 reefs. Never larger periods than 12 seconds... so yeah if your reference is Philippines or Indonesia, Brasil isn't as great. We do have good waves and sometimes it gets epic, but they aren't perfect.

Just watch this video. Good to know u had such good impression, but u missed some places to surf. There also some more protected beaches like galheta, which is on the left side of the Praia mole, also, there is a magic beach called Lagoinha do leste. Hope u can get here again, message me if u like

Thanks for your video Dan! I'm thinking of going there next August for a few weeks. You say that it's been 8 foot quite often when you were there, which is a bit big for me. On those 8 foot days, do you have more protected beaches to go to ? I am an intermediate surfer ideally looking for chest to headhigh waves. Thanks!

Hey James! Yes there are lots of different corners and beaches to surf when it's bigger!! I'd recommend a spot called Lagoa, it's pretty sheltered in there usually :)

Nice video Bro. I am from Florianópolis. For me, campeche in the best day is the best wave of the island. It’s a very extensive right wave. Then Joaquina (west), Moçambique (west) Santinho (north of the island, the best left wave) and Matadeiro (south)

sorry to say but in the summer , here is very hot, not too much wind. so less waves, but coming the fall and winter then wind blows more frequently you have more waves. butt carnival there is a lots of parties
