Don't get the Netgear XR1000, it doesn't get any support from Netgear even though the Duma OS developers already have updates ready for it but Netgear isn't releasing it. The latest update breaks QoS and other features and it's a very unstable router. It doesn't compare to the XR500. Get the Netduma R3 instead.

@UltimateTechHubАй бұрын
You need a Fiber ONT to connect the 5G fiber to then from the ONT you connect an ethernet cable to your WAN port on the router. I can't recommend any fiber ONTs because ISPs usually carry these for customers. I wouldn't worry about google ONTs that they provide because it just converts the optical signal into a digital signal. There is no security issue with that. I would definitely go with the BE98 pro for the best Wi-Fi and best wired connections. ASUS ROG Rapture GT-BE98 PRO First Quad-Band WiFi 7 Gaming Router amzn.to/3MZq7F9 Good luck and keep me posted.

Full disclosure, to find this answer i have posted on a forum, googled other forums and decided to post the same qestion to multiple KZbin channels due to not getting to the bottom of this. I posted on multiple channels because you know how it is not every comment gets answered. So yourself and Jayce Ooi have answered. He said "As long as there is QoS, you are good. Your ISP routing affects the online gaming most." But then you obviously think adaptive is the way to go. So yeah I'm not sure after receiving contradictory answers.
@UltimateTechHub9 күн бұрын
@@TheDoctor46vr Yes your ISP is your most important aspect of online gaming but the QoS will maximize the connections to the ISP and make the online gaming application the priority over other traffic. It does help but not every time because there so many other factors to consider. Also try port forwarding and use a custom DNS like Cloudflare or OpenDNS. Using a combination of these 3 things should give you the best online gaming experience. Hope this answers your question and have a great day!

The gaming features are useless. Most the options you have to pay extra for them. Qos makes things worse with my asus gtax11000. $800 for the new router is a joke
@UltimateTechHub5 ай бұрын
QoS worked for my ASUS router and my TP-Link router and improved download and upload by 30-40mbps. ASUS doesn't charge any subscription fees for added features and the gaming features can be hit or miss on some routers. All of this depends on you ISP max speeds and your ISPs reliable connections. Also make sure your DNS is Cloudflare for faster connections. Thanks for watching.

I have an Asus GT-AX11000. I’ve had it for a few years since new. I pay $110 for 1GBps speed through Spectrum. Sadly, Fiber isn’t available in my area. So this is the fastest ISP I can get. I get on average about 500-800mbps speeds when downloading games on my Xbox Series X, which is hardwired into my Asus Router via a Cat6 Ethernet cable. My issue is my ping. What can I do to get the lowest ping possible for my Xbox? I play First Person Shooters, like Rainbow Six Siege, Call of Duty, and Fortnite. My Ping is always 40-60ms. I really want it as close to zero as possible. My friend has Fiber and the most basic router setup, that was installed and given to him by Wow! Internet, and he’s always at 20ms or below. Is there any hope at all? Should I spent hundreds to thousands of dollars on another expensive Router and possible look into VPN’s or something? I don’t know how to run a gaming console on a VPN, but will do research if needed. Or is it simply loaded onto my router? Or is there simply no hope and I’m at mercy to what my Internet Service Provider can give me? If money isn’t an issue, other than the fact that I can’t get fiber ran to my house as it’s not available, then what can I do here? I find it super frustrating that I’m willing to pay good money for overkill solutions, but can’t seem to get the service that I desire. Such as the Cat6 cable for example whenever Cat5 is more than sufficient.
@UltimateTechHub2 ай бұрын
Sadly it's most likely your ISP. But you could port forward your Xbox to the game servers to see if that helps. Also, you could do a power cycle for all of your devices and then check the ping. It may help. Good luck and keep me posted.
@joshuacastle87012 ай бұрын
@@UltimateTechHubI spent my entire day researching and changing one variable at a time to see what works. I purchased ExpressVPN and used VPN Fusion on my ASUS Router, and during one game of Fortnite, I got to 14ms of Ping using the Washington DC Server. But that only happened once. And it was mid-match when I switched to that server, and there were only about 7 players left in battle royale unranked. I played another game and it was still back to 40’s. So sadly, no promise of a consistently good ping. I then went into my Asus Router settings and although I have OPEN NAT already, I found individual settings that open NAT’s for each game down to the exact system you’re playing on. So I found a Fortnite and a R6S one for Xbox Series X and added them. Immediately I noticed about 5-10ms of Ping difference. I then tried to use other settings within ASUS such as “WTFAST” and GameFirst VI, and some other 3rd party apps. None of these were very user friendly and ultimately I gave up on them, or found multiple posts dating years back of how they actually just use your money to do things that you can do yourself. Also, they have a lot of reviews stating that they end up doing more harm than good and can make your network almost incompatible with the games servers you’re trying to play. I then tried setting my DNS to cloudfare and google, respectively, after I heard it can help get lower ping manually. One game with Cloudfare DNS settings gave me a little bit better ping, but ultimately it just made everything the same or worse because my download speed suffered immensely from doing all this. I then found that the Xbox has a newish setting that prioritized gaming, such as QoS in their settings. I toggled this and didn’t notice much difference in my ping. I also have QoS toggled on my router. I also want to mention here I tried manually changing my server location in Fortnite settings, with no noticeable changes. Slowly I began to unwind everything that I did, and decided to just stick with the default settings. The only thing I chose to keep was the open NAT’s I found within the ASUS Router software program. Those seem like a pretty good deal. I’m gaming tonight and I’m hovering around 30-40 ping rather than my usual 40-50’s. I’m throwing in the towel until I move to the bigger city with fiber one day. I hope this helps someone out there who’s trying their damndest to get the most out of their internet!
