I saw an interview of Ray Liotta, specifically a portion where he was asked about vice city. He said that he felt like all he was doing was cursing. That would seem weird considering all the dialogue tommy has during the story… but then I found a clip of Tommy dialogue in the open world, things like what he screams when fighting the police or crashing his car. So maybe he had entire workdays where he only yelled insults rather than having meaningful dialogue and that left him with a bad impression about his role in the game.

Hey Professional, another honorable thing Tommy did is respect the oath of omertà, he could of been a whistleblower and gone into witness protection but he didn’t do it because he was not 100% sure that Sonny actually betrayed him. Just like you said in another video you made, he would like wait a long time to get his revenge. Another thing that was honorable was that he got revenge for earnest Kelly.

Before Vice City Stories came out, I also thought it was Tommy's yelling at him that he betrayed. But seeing what Lance did in the Vice City story convinced me that Tommy is actually a good boss, even by not showing his dominance over his gang members, and Lance in particular, shows he didn't act like other Mafia Boss.

When I was a kid I too thought Tommy was though on Lance, but from my current point of view Tommy is the best possible gang leader anyone could wish to work with. He's the opposite of Tony Montana when it comes to personality: always cold-minded, and thinking how to get out of situations in a way that benefits not only him, but his people as well. He's a bad person, but honorable at least. And getting to know how Vic was in Vice City Stories (and his own experiences with betrayal too) one has to wonder the potential Tommy and Vic could have had if they worked together instead of Tommy and Lance. Good video.

If Vic and Tommy worked together, they could have done a lot of great things together. Heck, I could see Vic anoint Tommy as his successor if he intends to retire but Lance, being the resentful, ambitious and whiny jerk that he is, would go and assassinate them just to take over the Vance Family businesses.

Although he would definitely be envious of Vic and Tommy if they were the ones running the business and he was a mere muscle or pilot. But if Vic was still alive and working in the organization he would also still be there to contain Lance's impulses and keep him on track, even if Lance despises that as he tells Tommy over the phone.

I would argue that the most honorable and good thing Tommy does happens after the story of Vice City. He sends Ken Rosenberg off to rehab and cuts ties, not only to save Ken's life from cocaine, but think about it, it's pretty much him offering Ken a second chance at life away from crime. Of course he wastes that in San Andreas, but still.

Nice Video. I'll be replaying Vice City again soon, I also have Vice City Stories (PS2 versions for both!) but I've not played that one before - somehow. Only one tiny error in the video that I spotted. The Psycho doesn't have a Scottish accent. It's North of England. The first one sounds vaguely Macclesfield / Macc Ladds to me, but the Tape Message is definitely a Manchester accent. Listen to Chris Ecclestone as the 9th Doctor in Doctor Who. That's the accent of the Psycho. Of course "everybody knows" that American actors can't do a British Accent :) , but this is one of those times that it's actually pretty good. So kudos to Hunter Platin.

I think you may be wrong about the Hit the Courier mission. I vaguely remember there being some kind of trap you can lure them into if you just hit them and run, or maybe you have to let them land on the other island, I forget. It's been a long time since I played VC

Hey professional. Yesterday I was playing gta online riding around in my khanjali doing fun and stupid things when I saw a player in distress. He was getting spawn killed by two players so I decided to help him. He hopped in my khanjali and we spawn killed them for about 20 minutes. Afterwards he invited me to a party and laughed as he said those were innocent people and that he helped me kill them and I feels so bad so I think I’ll be taking a long break from gta online.

30:35 I've said this before in one of your other videos, but I don't think Lance was scummy and while it was dirty what he did, I completely understand how Lance might've felt. In the time of VCS, he was a carefree, careless, incompetent, immature jackass... even so, he did care about his family. Especially his brother. The problem was just how Lance was. Vic had to deal with Lance like a child and would have to chew him out when he does something to cause a problem. Lance I would assume matured slightly since VCS as he didn't seem as childish in VC, but he was still a bit of the same ol' Lance. At the beginning of VC, I'm sure he realized it was his actions that got Vic killed. As it was him that got those drugs and without telling us flat out... it would've been him pushing Vic to finally push it 2 years later. It got Vic killed. That would've eaten at him, and because of how careless he is... that's how he got caught by Diaz and almost killed. Now to the part I tagged above at 30:35. That call explains a lot about Lance. When Tommy got at Lance, I'm sure Lance remembered how Vic would've talked to him when he screwed up. The problem though? Vic was family so Lance could've taken it... Tommy isn't family and Lance wasn't about to have someone other than Vic get at him and embarrass him in front of others. That's when Lance started questioning Tommy. Lance trusted Diaz in the beginning and what did that leave him with? The loss of drugs and a brother. I'm sure Lance thought that down the line Tommy would've backstabbed him and decided to be the 1st one to do it. As you said though, the biggest problem was Tommy was never going to do that. So that was a very bad miscalculation on Lance's part. I know you're talking about Earnest call in VC and going to talk about how he framed Martinez, but I don't think that's a fair call as that's the same one that framed Vic... which I'm sure in Lance's view was an eye for an eye for his brother. Wouldn't call that scummy and call it fair game. In the end, the problem with Lance was his inner demons and his inability to deal with situations and bad calls on his part. In his eyes, he saw himself doing the right thing and unfortunately never learn to take a moment to think something through.
