I don't know why it is not in the list.... to keep alive in the series, India need to be win with a bonus point...so, for any target set by sri lanka,they must win within 40 overs... no one thought that india will clear it within 40 overs...India won in 37th over.... Although, the luck was against the India.... Australia lost the next match and India knocked out of the cb series...

That inning of Sir Kapil Dev has always been the greatest. India was in deep trouble. Match was also not telecast on the tv, also after sudden fall of so many wickets, people had lost hopes and were not even listening to the scores on radios as all had believed that India is very soon going to lose this match. The biggest reason was that Zimbabwe was considered a very strong team back then. Also, they were coming into that match after defeating mighty Australians but when people switched to the radio after 2-3 hours, they got to know that Kapil Dev has scored individual score of 175 and Team India has made 266. Mind you, 266 was considered a very challenging total back then and that inning of Kapil Dev was respected the most back then and had led India back to the World Cup after which they got their confidence and motivation back and defeated the undefeated mighty West Indians in the final of Prudential Cricket World Cup 1983

Rohit's 264 was a good innings, a great one. But quality of bowlers wasn't good and pitch was a belter. Also there wasn't any pressure whatsoever, like World Cup final, high total to chase, or wickets tumbling at one end.
