I thought folk had twists in like 2015-17 ish. It was the Bart Simpson, dry haired, curl sponge, era. The progression went to waves then how to successfully grow out your hair and get healthy length for twists with some drop. Either way it’s crazy how In 2018-19 compared to now the phases of hair you went through. Now you on the early 2000s boss level, and your disciples are close behind

6:11 Black men def wore two strand twist from the 90’s - early & mid 2000’s. (Kris Kross, Immature/IMx/Marques Houston, DJ Quik, Snoop Dogg, Mack 10, Lil’ Fizz, Nick Cannon, Lloyd, Umaga) it was def most popular for L.A. guy’s back the 90’s & 2000’s. Guy’s in the South started adopting the style more in the mid & late 2000’s before the hairstyle trend changed into the Mohawks and fades in the late 2000’s & in 2010. It just so happened that around 2018 ish two stand twist for men started making a big comeback and is now the trend once again.

You don't need to braid the root of 2 strand twist if you have type 4 hair(You shouldn't need rubber bands either) lol You just need a professional to twist your hair the right way. I hate when people say that, it makes the roots look ugly & it just makes it harder to take out the twist. Plus it kinda fucks up your twist out.
