The other little handgun thing at SHOT I thought was cool was Laugo Arm's new suppressor mounting system for their Alien pistol. The suppressor, made by B&T, attaches to the frame _around_ the barrel. The threads are located on the inside of the frame, around the barrel. Since the barrel is fixed and the frame around it doesn't reciprocate with the slide, they probably provide a very tight fit. The result is that you can use a regular barrel. No extended or threaded barrel needed. It promises to be a more elegant and practical solution than on any other pistol.

45gap was a solution to a issue. It was develop and created at the end of the AWB. They were trying to give people the option to have 10 rounds of 45 in a frame that is more comfortable for most users. There was not a desire by Glock or the public to have more than 10 rounds in a large caliber gun as the average person could not purchase a magazine that could have greater than 10 rounds. You also have to remember G17 mags were going for around $150 at the time. Saying it was answering a problem to a question that was never asked is only used by people that dont understand what they are saying or are just repeating what someone else said without knowledge.

Shield Plus and Shield EZ in .30 SC are what I was most excited about as well. While I knew of them prior to their SHOT announcement as I had access to Federal's ammunition catalog it was still a great moment. As somebody who already owns plenty of .32 caliber firearms and in the same diameter, from a reloading perspective this quite interesting and appealing. I too would love to the CSX in the .30 SC, in fact I'd prefer it over the Shield Plus provided S&W has worked out the backstrap issue and trigger problems. The only other thing that got me excited was Taurus bringing back the .327 Federal Magnum revolvers. I hope they make a 3 inch model Ultra Lite frame, that would be THE definitive carry revolver for me in that cartridge. Unless of course Chiappa can make a 7 shot Rhino in that caliber....

Great job on Shot TFB TV! A lot of people sand-bagged this Shot for: 1. Cov-AIDS 2. "It won't have anything new". 3. "Is not worth the cost". 4. "But I don't want to give gun people a platform. . ." Solid video. I think you actually covered most of the guns in the exact order I'd rank them. The P15 is really interesting, the new FN HiPower is pretty damn sexy, and the 30 super carry is an intriguing new flavor in the wide world of cartridges. I want to get my hands on a CSX too!

@@darrengarcia4937 How do you figure? In my eyes it's the HiPower mod 2, updated to the 21st century. It's still the same design and shape, chambered in 9mm, and fixes a lot of the problems with the original.

I’d be curious to see if glock or the aftermarket can make something in 30 super carry. I think it’d be interesting seeing a g17 set up for it might make an interesting competition gun.
@TerminalM193
@TerminalM193 2 жыл бұрын
Isn't the whole point of the round to be able to carry a much smaller package with the same or more capacity? A g17 seems counterproductive in size compared to the round.
@battoisoutto6657
@battoisoutto6657 2 жыл бұрын
@@TerminalM193 smaller size with same capacity or same size with extra rounds. That’s the selling point. A g17 in it would give you more ammo in the same frame. Meaning for certain events where the pistol must fit in a box with the optic (making 30 round stick mags impossible) or other events where there might be restrictions this could give a slight edge by giving you a few more shots. More chances to clear a stage before reloading maters when against the buzzer. I’d also be curious to see the ballistics in a longer barrel gun as I have a feeling that higher velocity in a longer barrel might actually mean this caliber is flatter shooting.

The only advantage to having multiple tiers of 5.7 is more ammunition production. It makes me 5.7 curious to the one that has the most feature rich ability offering. Who can provide me a lower bore access, with a red dot and not a shitty trigger. More capacity with the ability to provide good shot placement is worthwhile.
@echofoxtrotwhiskey1595
@echofoxtrotwhiskey1595 2 жыл бұрын
Without AP ammo, 5.7 has next to no value compared to 9mm. It’s doesn’t meet the 2200 threshold to cause tissue tearing and it’s doesn’t make as big of a hole.

@@fixerupperer There's not much real world data to look at, but the one specific case at Ft Hood shows that the 5.7 works extremely well. I wouldn't feel oitgunned whatsoever with 5.7x28, and it's actually one of my favorite calibers. I hope more ammo options become available, as that's it's weakest link. Luckily I've accumulated about 6k rounds. I haven't shot any lately though, because I keep my stockpiland only shoot what I can buy off the shelf, and I haven't seen any for sale in about a year and a half, although I haven't looked extremely hard, just because I already have quite a bit anyway. I've been using 9mm and 22lr for the vast majority of the plandemic since those were much easier to find,afford, and replace.

30 super carry, I’m guessing .30 cal which would make it a 7.62mm bore, so yes 20% more capacity would be possible. Also if I’m not mistaken wasn’t the original Lugers in 7.65mm before they went to 9mm? Maybe revisiting the old cartridge?

PSA's 5.7mm looks better than ruger's, it's like a shiveled-up mk23. Also 5.7, like 4.6, failed at body armor - it can go through soft armor(so can certain 9mm loads, out of longer barrel not to mention crazy russian 7n31), sure, but against then-contemporary hard armor, it sucked.
@Seth9809
@Seth9809 2 жыл бұрын
It also requires ammo you can't get. Hilarious the Cartel didn't know that. Oxide proved how pointless the P90 was, considering Soviet body armor. Never pinned down if the bullet kills well or not.

I’m stoked for the 5.7 Rock. Yea it’s “budget” but it looks to be more ergonomically friendly than the Ruger. I’ve handled the Ruger and it’s not a pleasant feeling, or even nice feeling gun. ESPECIALLY for the $900 price tag. PSA is doing some really great things. I can’t wait for the Jekyl, and for their MP5 clone, assuming it releases this century. Seriously though, PSA has really stepped up their QC, and brought some really low priced, and fantastic products to market.

I hope the 44 automag works and hits the market. It's going to be mad expensive, but I'll buy it. I know this isn't the point of the video, but I'd like to see firearm manufacturers start refusing to sell "compliant" guns in order to push the people of the states like CA and CO to change the law or go without. The only way we're going to make a difference is by forcing the issue.
