Some of the murders likely were other people but there was a string of murders clearly performed by the same person, the killer's craft improved with each kill, that suggests they were learning and the speed and pattern at which they were learning suggests it was a single person doing it. It's highly unlikely that several different people commited incredibly similar murders using incredibly similar tools with progressively increasing levels of skill.

I've often thought that "Jack" was a Police officer. He would have known the areas involved and the dark uniform wouldn't show bloodstains up easily. The girls would have known him and would feel safe with him, plus it wasn't unknown that the Police would have asked for a "freebie" now and again on the promise that they wouldn't run them in. I have only seen one eyewitness report that describes the Ripper's clothing as wearing a cap and a dark "Pea Jacket". Is it coincidence that this report describes a Policeman's uniform of the time? Not all the officers would wear the what is called, a "Bobby" hat and were permitted to wear a peaked hat.

No. That "evidence" doesn't really hold up anymore. First: the DNA was found during a research paid by a dude who had written a book about how Kosminski did it a few years earlier. The research was also not published in a medical paper, but a tabloid. Second: The scarf the DNA was found on had samples of about 50 different people on it (prostitute!) Third: Kosminski couldn't speak english. Try picking up a hooker without speaking their language. Fourth: The only english sentence he ever spoke was "Lock me up or I'll do it again" which he said so get back into a mental hospital he had been in and out of for many years. He had actually been locked up during one of the kills. And he just wasn't the right kind of crazy. If he had posed a threat to the public they wouldn't have let him out of medical care in the first place. Fifth: I know he was a butcher, but he doesn't seem the type to have such surgical accuracy. So there's your strong proof ripped to shreds (unfunny pun intended)

My suspect would be George Hutchinson. He was the last person to see Mary Kelly alive that night but he told police he saw her walk off with a man in a surgeon’s apron, top hat and etc he described the man right down to his shoe size… don’t know about you but when I see someone on the street in daylight I wouldn’t be able to tell you every detail about them hours or days later. Yet to the police he described every little detail of the supposed killer he saw at night to the police, truth is he saw no one and created a phantom in an apron to the police so he wouldn’t be recorded as the last person to see her alive, so the police believed him let him go and started looking for a killer in an apron and top hat who coincidently they never found.

Jack the ripper: based on the video jack was most likely: 1) an orphan who found out he was a bastard or just found out in a negative way that he was a bastard. He was most likely not broke but not rich either. He probably was an ex military, such as a battle field surgeon, which would explain the proficiency of the murders and the surgical precision and may also explain the intelligence and planning of the murders. Possibly suffering from PTSD or some other mental disability. May have had minor assault or other related charges. 2)Could have had a shitty childhood. Maybe divorce or suicide of one or both of the parents. Could have been brought in by a gang in his childhood and wanting to escape killed his way out. Starting a string of paranoia and murderous rage at ordinary things that were just perceived wrong. Again mother may have been a prostitute or may have been raped. He may have been raped as well. (Multiple ideas from each scenario can be pieced together into alternate scenario) 3) maybe from a richer family. Maybe just have been suffering from a STD passed to him from his mother from his father who got it from a prostitute.(hope you followed that) may have been a mental disorder. STD explains why the murders stopped and why he ate organs (no fear of disease knowing he is already going to die and wanting to go out with a bang) would explain mysterious end to murders (other than copy cats). I am only 14 and never really cared about this before but this is what I got from this 1 video comment if you have any other ideas or additions

Jack the Ripper's youngest victim was also his last victim, Mary Kelly she was approximately between the ages of 20 - 25 years old. It would be impossible that Jack the Ripper would be Frances Tumblete, why you might ask? Let me explain. Frances Tumblete was a man that stood just over 6 feet tall, and in Victoria London he would be considered extremely tall, and along with that huge mustarch, he would have stood out like a saw thumb. Serial killers in general look like your next door neighbor and someone who wouldn't have stood out. If it was him he would have been recognized and caught. Serial killers in general are invisible and that is how they operate their horrific crimes. Jack the Ripper would be considered as an unorganized killer, this means that none of the murders were planned, they were spontaneous, the only organised thing he did was carrying a knife. I have heard of more plausible suspects, like for example Henry Howard Homes, H.H.Homes. You might say it can't be him, he murdered people in Chicago in 1891 during the worlds fair. However while the murder castle was being built he traveled to London in 1888, the year of Jack the Ripper. There are a lot of similarities between these two serial killers. 1. The mutilations of the victims. 2. They both killed women, however H.H.Homes did kill men and children just as much as his female victims. 3. Some say that Jack the Ripper was a doctor, H.H.Homes was a doctor, and a very skilled surgeon. 4. Both of these killers were considered genius's. 5. They were in London at the exact same time. 6. The composite sketches of Jack the Ripper match almost perfectly with H.H.Homes. 7. According to a witness account who saw Elizabeth Stride getting attacked by an unknown man, had clearly stated that he saw 2 men. H.H.Homes was with an unknown accomplish when he traveled to London to sell skeletons to British universities. However, H.H.Homes and Jack the Ripper also had differences. 1. Jack the Ripper was an unorganized serial killer. H.H.Homes on the other hand was the complete opposite, he was extremely organised, so organised he went to university to become a doctor just to learn how to kill, and to dispose of corps. 2. H.H.Homes had confessed to some of the Jack the Ripper murders and had stated that his last victim he killed in London was Ann Chapmen, victim number 3, and in his diaries he stated that he got his apprentice to kill the prostitutes. I have a lot to argue about that, was that H.H.Homes was a genius and he would never ever leave anything to chance. So why would he risk the Whitechappel murders? And also one of the victims was murdered practically in broad daylight at the back of a house. I know that serial killers can get cokie, but I don't think that H.H.Homes would be that stupid. 4. When Elizabeth Stride was murdered the attacker shouted at the witness 'linski'. Linski was a polish Jew that was hanged a few years earlier for murder. How would H.H.Homes know this? Because at that time he was in Chicago. And lastly if H.H.Homes was Jack the Ripper then none of the Whitechapple victims would have been discovered they would have simply vanished into thin air. The only time H.H.Homes left his victims out on display was for insurance money and that is it. Or it is hypothesized that they were merely a distraction for his true crime. Now that would make sense if he was Jack the Ripper. It is up to you. Who do you think is Jack the Ripper? I am certain that it was never Frances Tumblete and although it is plausible that it was H.H.Homes, but he only claimed three of the victims not all five of them. I do believe however, that he did kill in London in 1888. But I am a bit skeptical that he was Jack the Ripper.And also it isn't unheard of two or more murders with the same kill method killing in the same location at the same time. It has happened before. For example in the 1980's there were approximately 3 serial killers who stalked the California highways abducting, raping, strangling and then dumping womens bodies along highways. And none of these killers knew each other, they were independent. So if it happened in the 1980's it certainly could have happened in 1888. I'm a bit of a serial killer nerd, and I currently going to university to study them. And according to my family I am nearly a serial killer expert.

Abbey-Marie Slatter yes but what about Aaron Kosminski who was a high suspect. It was stated that Kosminski hated prostitutes - and guess which type of women Jack the Ripper killed? Kosminski was also reported for having “thoughts of killing another human” and I’m not sure if this is a coincidence or not, but a year after the Ripper’s murders ended, Kosminski got sent to the mental asylum for insanity - possibly this was the reason for the end of it. Not only that but Jack the Ripper was stated to have an accent - Kosminski was a polish Jew and as we can see from the “Mr. Lusk” letter, the Ripper’s spelling wasn’t very good. Lastly, recent ripperthologists claim that a shawl that was from one of the victims (can’t remember which one) was sold on auction and with hard DNA analysation, the victim’s blood and the semen of Kosminski was found to be on it. Coincidence? I think not.

Interesting fact. Have you ever wondered why a 5 times murder has gone down in history? Well at the time of the Ripper murders the East end of London was stricken with utter poverty,alcoholism,child deaths,murder and prostitution was a daily occurrence. The politicians at the time were horrified by this but rather than help the ppl of the East End they turned to the owners of the press whom they drank with at gentlemen's clubs to create an hysteria,showing people with low morals as deserving of such horrors. Thus dehumanising the poor of the East End and the tawdry conditions and murders were placed not where they should with the politicians but with victims of an injustice and cruel elite .

I got familiar with Jack the Ripper because of Assassins Creed Syndicate. I'm British myself so I actually did hear about him before playing the game, it's just that I only knew he was a murder. I was also a kid at the time so a lot was censored/hidden from me, don't know about you but I'd rather not know he mutilated women at the age of 6. But yeah, I watch Black Butler too.

Jack the Ripper seems to show up in a lot of movies, tv shows, and video games.The ones that I have seen so far: 1. Pretty much anything that involves Sherlock Holmes trying to find Jack the Ripper. 2. In the anime Detective Conan ( or by its dubbed title Case Closed), in one there movies Conan and his friends are trapped in virtual reality game that involved certain history events that involved fictional and non-fiction elements by a Computer A.I. The one they went into involved Sherlock Holmes trying to find Jack the Ripper but the A.I. didn't want them to find Sherlock Holmes, it wanted them to find Jack the Ripper themselves, they did however find Professor James Moriarty who gave them clues to help them. The reason for this was because in the video game, Moriarty found Jack and raised him as a son and took him as an apprentice, but went mad later on and he wants Sherlock or Conan and his friends to stop him. During the movie they found out a few things about him, they believed that Jack the Ripper killed woman prostitutes because his mother was a prostitute and one of his victims was her. And the man that supposedly created the virtual reality game was a descendant of Jack the Ripper and he tried to hide the fact from everybody because he was afraid on how people would react to it. They found out about this part because they police and detectives were searching for clues about him and the Computer A.I. gave them hints on where to find it. It did this because his creator who was just a little boy with a genius I.Q. created the game and also found out that his adoptive father was related to Jack the Ripper. He committed suicide after he released his Computer A.I. on to the Internet, he did this because he found out his adoptive father knew that the boy knew his secret and believed that he was going to be killed for it. It turned out he wasn't going to kill him but was going to explain to him why he wanted it to be kept a secret. He wanted to nothing to do with his crazed serial killer ancestor, and did everything he could to hide the fact. The A.I. didn't harm anyone that was trapped in the video game but it made it seem like it so that they would solve the mystery on why his creator was dead and what Jack the Ripper had to do with it. ( It added the Jack the Ripper programming into the game because it was instructed to do so by his creator so that other people would find out later on, this explains why the adoptive father was shock to find out about this when the kids had to play the game to solve the mystery.) Also near the end of the movie the A.I. actually allowed Sherlock Holmes to show up to give Conan some encouraging advise in order to beat the game but disguised it as a glitch, however Conan was able to figure out that the A.I. was helping them out throughout the entire time they were in the game by disguising itself as one of the children that was playing the game, while the actual kid was sleeping in the game until at the end of the movie and was not aware of the events that happened. 2. Star Trek the original series, Jack the Ripper was some sort of alien that used different host to kill people so it could use their life force to keep it alive. 3. Family Guy, Glenn Quaqmire was Jack the Ripper in a past life.( Not surprised.) 4. Criminal Minds, the main character compare certain criminals motive and behaviors with Jack the Ripper.

Back in university in the philippines, we have a course ( mandatory ) called Rizal study where we would try to uncover and unmask the icon of Dr. Jose P Rizal ( the national hero.) basically it was a forum discussion and study of his early years as well as debate reasons and events which made him become the author of two controversial books which sparked our revolution which caused him his life. Our professor joked around about how the incidents of Jack the Ripper coincided with the doctor's trip to that area. Could be coincidence, but as far as the 17 women ( ? ) he's been with, our professor joking hinted that like the he was no stranger to prostitutes as well... after all, he had the youth and the wit to get away with it. :3
