Oh yeah, I believe Barnett is a good suspect as well. It's just that Kelly's murder chaves me too much to believe it was actually him. It seemed a bit too on the sexual side than the emotionality required for Barnett and the motive presented. Would Barnett really spend hours just mutilation the body of Kelly? To prove what? @@visala4495 Few reasons i just can't drop Barnett as a suspect: After Annie Chapman's death, an envelope that belonged to Barnett was found in the courtyard of Hanbury Street, who could've have lost it when he committed the murder. On 30 September 1888, the night of the "double event", the escape route taken by the murderer led to Barnett's home. He could even have washed his bloody hands in a fountain near Miller's Court, where he lived at the time. As a fish porter, he filleted fish and possessed an appropriate weapon that matched the knife with which the killer inflicted the cuts to his numerous victims. A tobacco pipe of his was found on the scene of Mary Jane Kelly's murder. If he had taken all of his belongings a few days before and no longer returned to the place, as he had said, it is not explained why this object was there He had a reason to perpetrate the excesses of Jack the Ripper. He was not alienated or psychotic, but an intelligent and cunning individual who - precisely because of these characteristics - the police never managed to catch He would have kept the key to the room he shared with Kelly and, after completing the homicide, went out and locked the door using that key, which had not been lost, as he falsely claimed.

@@8bennaboo it was also considered that jack the ripper might actually be a female. one of the suspects mentioned here (pearcey) was a midwife/abortionist, thus bearing tools and anatomical knowledge of the female reproductive system. witnesses swore they spotted kelly (5th victim) around hours after her murder. it is possible the ripper wore kelly’s clothes after killing her thus being able to pass the police undetected, and maybe because the ripper is profiled as a male instead of female. pearcey was sentenced to death for killing her lover’s wife and child (same MO with the ripper). also, women don’t usually put their guard up when being with other women compared to being with men. the letters that predicted two of the murders (including the next victim’s ear will be chipped note) was run for dna samples in 2006. over 200 human cells were collected from the letters: the stamps, saliva used to seal the envelope, & etc, revealed dna from a female. jack the ripper actually being jill the ripper is not that impossible.

@@glumshroomie219 Not impossible, unlikely. Most female serial killers do not kill in this way, not the known ones anyway. From a profiling standpoint, the ripper was almost certainly male. Witnesses are unreliable, memory is tricked very easily. The ripper also likely had huge rage towards women base don how he targeted their face, genitalia and breasts. This type of rage towards women is less likely in another female. As for the letters, DNA that old is very delicate and hundreds of people would have left their DNA on those letters, it proves nothing. It could easily be from lab contamination as well. One skin cell would be enough.

"29 August-7 September 1888: The Prince was staying with Viscount Downe at Danby Lodge, Grosmont, Yorkshire. (Nichols murdered 31 August.) "7-10 September 1888: The Prince was at the Cavalry Barracks in York. (Chapman murdered 8 September.) "27-30 September: The Prince was at Abergeldie, Scotland, where Queen Victoria recorded in her journal that he lunched with her on 30 September. (Stride and Eddowes murdered between 1.00 and 2.00 a.m., 30 September.) "1 November: Arrived in London from York. "2-12 November: The Prince was at Sandringham. (Kelly murdered 9 November)" So the Victor Albert theory is pure BS as its pretty easy to prove that that theory is wrong.

There was also John Pizer, a shoemaker. He reportedly ran an extortion racket and targeted prostitutes, demanding money from them and if they refused, he threatened to "rip them apart". He was sometimes called "Leather Apron" because of the large leather apron he wore to work and reportedly carried a large knife in one of the pockets. A leather apron was found near the body of victim Annie Chapman. However, most people rule him out because he had alibis for at least two of the murders and the leather apron found near Chapman's body didn't belong to him. Nowadays, most consider Aaron Kosminski to be the Ripper. Police found a bloody shawl belonging to victim Catherine Eddowes. In 2014, they ran tests on the blood and they found that mitochondrial DNA matched descendants of both Eddowes and Kosminski. However, others don't agree with the findings, even after a retest in 2019 which again matched.

All the evidence of Kosminski being the Ripper is circumstancail at best. The DNA which they used was mitochondrial DNA which can't be used to determine one person, the was a clear escalation in the canonical 5 murders that ended in 1888, kosminski was also mostly non-violent at the asylum in which he was institutionalized at in 1891.
