@@gicking3898 Thats where the show went down and stayed shaky from season 5 - 8...and I liked how it did go don, because it shows the role and importance of a father in every man's life. AS much as it wasn't intentional on the part of the show runners, it just shows that everybody reacted to it subconsciously without knowing that was one of the bigger reasons season 5-7 were not so loved. The show runners were even crippled on how to properly keep the magic and opted to draw out the relationship of Clark and Lana which also failed and didn't sit well with a lot of viewers as many saw a glimpse of an example of a relationship doomed to fail. Then comes in season 8-10, thing get more mature and soulful, the writers get their fire back, the main actors are older and more experienced and there is a fresh story that could have honestly been a series called "METROPOLIS " lol. Season 8-10 has got to be some of the best rebounds and saves I've ever seen in a series. The icing on the cake was the Clark and Lois relationship which every couple can take some lessons from. The season finally really solidified the show as one of the best of all time despite its flaws. If this show ever makes it way to Netflix, it probably will cause a crazy wave from old and new fans alike

Oh please. This movie really was a foreshadowing of the way our society will be today. Everyone seemingly wants to adopt the victim mentality and blame others for everything, When instead we can be victors and choose our destinies. The so called victims you reference chose to be reactive rather than Proactive. Now Clark does have some fault, but no one controls anyone's destiny except themselves.

6:17 -- Clark: "I'm not your enemy. I never did anything to hurt you." Lex: "You didn't trust me. With everything you had, with everything you can do, did you ever think about what we could have accomplished together? I would've helped you become a hero!" That hit me harder than I expected. The idea that Clark keeping that secret from Lex, and Lex thinking Clark was the one person he could really trust, might have been the mistake that created Superman's greatest enemy. The world's smartest man and the world's most powerful hero working together: that would've been something to see.
@alexislambert8039
@alexislambert8039 2 жыл бұрын
Exactly I so wished he’d told him sooner but I get it, lex might not have been his greatest enemy and that was the point of the show.But there was never any trust in their relationship from the start so when Lex says he should have trusted him I get why Clark didn’t but I wish he had. Canonically Clark was 14 when they met so a 14 year old telling a sketchy billionaire playboy adult who experimented on “freaks” and was obsessed with him probably wouldn’t have been in the cards. But I wish he had found out sooner they could have done so much good and Clark could’ve helped Lex become a better person if he’d been honest in my opinion anyways.

@@alexislambert8039 Alotta that distrust was that Lionel had lied to Lex thruout his life and so many minions and others had lied, Lex was thinking, for good reason, that everybody lies. In the comics, there are realities where they are partners. Heck, in ones where Lex muscels his way onto the JLA, they are this, though a bit adversarial. Think Kal El just voted "no" as a prefunctory to have Lex on the defensive, but Clark was obeying that old thing about keeping friends close and enemies closer, soz you can keep an eye on them more.

@pershop4950
@pershop4950 4 жыл бұрын
@@DerekThomasLirio I guess it could be resolved by the following thoughts: 1) The Kryptonians who could time-travel or had the tech to time-travel, were dead. 2) The last Kryptonian, Kal-el, did not really know that stuff until he became an adult. As Superman, he has done many things in the comics. Somewhere along the way, I am sure he had to learn some lesson about time-travelling, same as the reasons why he doesn't try to exact his own ideas of justice on *every* country but lets them do their own thing. So that's why he doesn't do any time travelling himself to fix that kind of problem. Of course, some tech still survives in Argo City and even in Fortress of Solitude, but usually only stuff that is needed to get through the current crisis or comic story arc. The idea of going back in time is usually visited by having some kind of hologram plot playing out the stories but not really as much about Kal-el himself going back in time.

Honestly, Smallville was good, but it had a LOT of crappy episodes. Although I was only watching it for a superhero show, and that really wasnt what it was about, they used powers to get out of situations quickly. Plus 90% of the episodes were the writers finding ways to knock out the people Clark was with just so he could use his abilities lol. Oh and lots of shipping.

I think watch Season 1-4, then Season 9-10. First 4 seasons were really good and last 2 seasons are about adult Clark doing some stuff in Metropolis, as well as the alternate universe episodes which are kind of fun and nice. 9 - 10 also begin the story plot of Clark and Lois so you get a few nice scenes from them also.

Any one else have a bigger crush on Coe (Alison Mack) because she seemed to be smarter, more his type and just not as whiney
@algallego
@algallego 8 жыл бұрын
+geekedoutturtlesfan35  Chloe, was just as whiney in the first three seasons as anyone else.  It's just that she loved Clark before anyone else and she stuck with him despite all the "Wall of Weirdness" she would eventually come to learn was attributed to Clark's arrival on Earth-- so of all of his friends, it would seem she is the most empathetic towards him and admiring, thereby the pre-mature leap to form a romantic association between them.  It's easy to attempt to translate that kind of genuine friendship into some sort of romantic connection, but with Chloe, that would be an error-- Chloe is easily swayed by her emotions and could be a HIGH vulnerability to Clark, later on as Superman, if anyone discovered that association between them.  Lois is more withstanding and resisting to the pressures of that relationship with Clark; it comes from a place of greater tenacity.  Chloe likes to retreat into her emotions anytime things get too tough on her and becomes a mental basket case-- Lois does not, hence, why Lois is perfect for Clark, Chloe is not.  Chloe would be by far a runner-up, but still far behind Lois!
@geeked-outturtlesfan4288
@geeked-outturtlesfan4288 8 жыл бұрын
+A G I disagree. ... look at how both reacted to finding out about Clark's powers. in one episode where Chloe had found out about his abilities and Clark had amnesia, she tried to help him rediscovered them....in fact after Clark did discover Chloe New.... who was there to sacrifice her own feelings and push her own feelings aside to direct him towards Lana then eventually Chloe. While Lana helped Clark discover what human love is.... Chloe proved to Clark that there is people he could eventually trust with his secret.... which would help him eventually tell Lois. to me..... that's more of a hero than anyone could ask for...
@algallego
@algallego 8 жыл бұрын
I never spoke against Chloe as a hero. Chloe was monumental in Clark's becoming a hero, eventually Superman, but she was not and is not his sole inspiration-- neither the biggest part. I'm watching the series from start to finish on DVD now and am seeing the quirks of Chloe closer now than ever before and all the reasons why she would not be the ideal mate to Clark.

+A G Well we all unfortunately know it's supposed to be Lois but if I had to choose between Chloe and Lana I'd pick Chloe. She was already prepared to deal with the different and unusual ( she did try to help the meteor infected), she was strong and not as inconsistent in what she wanted. Lana wasn't ever sure. .... which is why she bounced around after Whitney. Sure Chloe wasn't perfect but compared to Lana I seen her as a stronger character
@algallego
@algallego 8 жыл бұрын
geekedoutturtlesfan35 With that I can definitely agree! Chloe had far more strength of character than Lana; therein lied her beauty as well, despite Lana winning in the physical department, Chloe had a heart of GOLD-- riches above and beyond anything Lana could offer! Clark did everything to try to change Lex, to see the good side of him, but Lex just kept going to the dark side. But Clark was the one person who believed in him, and he was spying on Clark, he broke into his own fiancées office to steal his blood; like Really?!!! And you wonder why he didn’t tell him about his secret? He didn’t even tell Pete, Lois, Chloe, Jimmy, and eventually Lana. He told Pete, he eventually told Lois, but Lois figured it out. She let Clark come to her in his own time. Chloe figured it out too, then Clark told her the rest. And he told Lana in Reckoning, but she died, and he had to go back in time to save her, and his father got killed. Eventually Lana was on to Clark too about his secret, and she saw it because she trapped Chloe in that place on purpose; once she figured out his powers, then was hell bent on leaving Lex until Lionel Luthor got involved. And Lionel is no fool, he knows that Lana doesn’t love his son, I mean truly love his son. He knows she truly loves Clark, and he used that love for Clark so she could stay close to Lex. She didn’t even know about the kyronite thing until he told her that was Clark’s weakness. And then when she was in the barn, she slipped up, and said, you have a weakness. Then he figured out the rest. Lex even used brainwashing and mind-manipulation to break up Clark and Lana’s relationship?!!! Yeah some friend he turned out to be. You don’t do things like that, and then get mad when somebody doesn’t trust you.

Horkslair, Lex turned out the way he did because of Lex, not Clark. And Lionel had a hand in it too. Lionel was a terrible father to Lex, he never encouraged him, loved him, and so on. Everybody loved Clark, and everybody hated Lex Luthor. HOW DARE YOU put all that on Clark.

Don't forget near the end of the show where Lex brings back Lana, puts a meteor rock time bomb in her, only to later use her against Clark to destroy the world. Lex was twisted since child hood, when he tried to kill his baby brother. There's where your jealousy, rage, and anger comes from. Right there. I mean when your father is a wealthy man, you usually have a spoiled brat as a child. What Lex did to Lana and Clark is just unacceptable. Lex was so cunning in figuring out Clark's secret that he even used Lana in doing so. The man was so obsessed in figuring out who Clark was, that he smear lies to Clark in every scene they have. Lex plays dumb in every scene and Clark has to fall for it every time. Thee only person that knew Clark from inside and out during the whole show was Chloe. So realistically speaking, Lex made himself into a monster a long time ago. It's his own doing and nobody else's.

Sammie Vander Veen, EXACTLY! FACTS, FACTS, and FACTS! I’m so tired of hearing people blame Clark for how Lex Luthor turned out. How about blaming Lex Luthor for how Lex Luthor turned out? And the fact is Clark just didn’t know everything about Lex Luthor, but Lex Luthor wanted to know everything about Clark Kent. Clark basically had everything Lex wanted: the good parents, the loyal girlfriend, the loyal friends; everybody loved Clark Kent. Everybody TRUSTED Clark Kent. But everybody hated Lex, and Lionel Luthor. Their twisted relationship is one way Lex turned out so bad. And anybody who would kill his brother has serious issues. Lex has done messed up things to people he claims to love: Lana, Clark, his ex-wife Helen. Stealing Clark’s blood from her office?!!! Seriously?!!! Then he hires a private investigator to track her, and his meetings with his father. Only an insecure and an untrustworthy man would do something like that to his future wife. You know, if Lex had stopped obsessing over Clark’s secret, who he was, where he came from, and been an honest decent person, he might have done really good for himself. And he always went out of his way to mess up people’s life’s. It’s very sad to me.

There was also the scene after Clark rescued Lex from being run over by a car (was it?). Then Lex wound up in a mental hospital and begged Clark to help him escape, he said he knew Clark could do it after he witnessed the rescue from the speeding car. I think that was early on in season 3 or 4.

I agree with the top 4, however, my favorite scene for number 1 would've been switched to the episode Reckoning from season 5, after the initial car crash that kills Lana, and Clark runs at super speed to the accident site to try and save her, not caring that Lex is there and sees him get there in a matter of seconds. Even though there was no dialogue in the scene between them, this was one of the most powerful Lex/Clark moments of the series.

@FireFlyInc4life you had a ton of moments to choose from. I think about 700 people discovered Clark's secret over the decade run of that show. Within Smallville's continuity there'd be dozens of random people who, upon seeing adult Superman's exploits, would be like "hey, remember that Clark Kent guy who blew up our house/barn/son because it was made of meteor rocks? The dude who did all those superheroics without glasses on and told us he was an alien? This Superman guy looks just like him!"

There's quite a lot of stuff he didnt die in, but he wasnt the reason the show "went down" imo. The universe building took priority over the story, thats when it started to go down hill, but at the same time it was the first real occasion where you saw the show as a superhero show. It's a shame he never became Superman, he did everything Superman did, fought all of his villains, formed a Justice League etc, everything apart from fly and wear the suit.

She died Chloe, and i had one chance and in reversing it, I paid for it with Dad’s life.. so you don’t know how difficult it is, giving her up.” I soooo wanted him to say something like that.

The Jonathan in this show was the perfect way to portray a father worried about his superpowered son without making him overly protective and callous like Snyder's Man of Steel did. This Jonathan was able to understand that his son had to find his own way in the world, and allowed Clark to do what he was destined for instead of constantly holding him back.

@FireFlyInc4life - Pete's discovery of the secret may or may not have been "epic", but it represented the first time that Clark voluntarily shared his secret. Frankly, it would have been my #5 (or maybe even #4).

Lana finding out was the amazing. She's getting annoying during season 5 and when she found out about Clark's secret, everyone was going to change. But for me nothing beats Lex Luthor finding out even if it took 7 seasons to make Lex find out. That scene was amazing and great acting from both Tom and Michael, but unfortunately Michael Rosenbaum left the show after season 7 which probably changed the script since he was suppose to control Clark somehow.

Knowing when this video popped up on KZbin it missed the Lois and Clark reveal which I believe is the best one especially the one where Lois jumps in his arms. It was a great reveal because even though Lois knew he was the Blur, Clark told her on his own accord without any major event to cause him to share, and he shared his secret with Lois more nervously than any other person he has shared it with. Even with the Lana reveal in the barn she said that she was leaving for good, so he felt compelled to tell her even though she already knew.
