So glad I'm not the only one who made that mistake!! I accidentally spent my bonus permanent unlock token from the pathfinder pack on the machine pistol because I assumed id be using a regular unlock token. I think they either need to have a separate menu to use prestige rewards like in previous cods, or make it WAYYYY more obvious that youre using a perma unlock token instead of just a regular one

I think flanker or what it's called(ghost) is worth mentioning. I like having that on my silenced smg class to have one stealth loadout. I think the top 3 are bar, primed and flanker

I used my preorder permanent unlock token in the M1911. I regretted it at first, as I was killed constantly by the BAR, but as time went on, I got really good with it. I snipe a lot, so I like having a sidearm I can rely on, and the 1911 is that for me. Absolutely necessary.

1: I experienced the same exact thing with the fighter pilot, but I managed to get back my unlock token by immediately shutting off my console right after I realized what I had done. 2: You can perm unlock the ball turret gunner which I believe you unlock at level 52. It's very powerful, and if you're an expert at the game, it's a good choice for you.

Harry I think you are missing the fact that you can use a regular unlock token to unlock any of the divisions as soon as you hit level 2. Use a permanent token on high level stuff like flanker, which you can only use a regular token on at level 54. Its a complete waste to use a permanent unlock on low level things.

Great advice about using your permanent unlock token immediately. I almost made the same mistake as you. Only my paranoia about not wasting it saved me. My first was used on the FG42 and my second on the BAR. I had planned my next to be Primed but I will now wait to see the impact of the planned change to flinch. I agree that the new format of having divisions with functions limited to them and also functions in the Basic Training items, are together making us need to think differently and carefully about how we use our permanent unlock tokens. I am a casual playerand finally entered my first prestige. And instantly made a dumb move. I perm unlocked the BAR. Not that doing this in and of itself was a stupid idea. It's not. It is a great weapon, but I completely forgot I had alrady unlocked the heroic version of my FG42... by not perma-unlocking that I lost my 10% soldier exp bonus!!! On the flip side, I finally prestiged my airborne division and am excited to level up the MP40.... I do like that these divisdion prestige unlocks are permanent, even if you prestive your soldier level. Additionally, any attachments you have on these weapons remain regardless of soldier prestige. Wghich raises a question. Aside from being able to display your clan tag or a body count on your weapon, is there any real advantage to presitging a weapon?

The main advantage to ranking up your weapons is the bonus soldier xp you get from unlocking all the attachments again, each time you rank up a weapon it helps your main rank.

As others already stated, you do get extra XP as you unlock attachments. As far as putting a "clan tag or kill counter" (which is the way it's worded at the gunsmith) on your weapon, I feel that is misleading. I was under the impression that I would be able to do one or the other; however, after the first weapon prestige, you can only put a clan tag. You have to prestige it a second time to get the kill counter. In my opinion, it seems a little pointless to prestige your weapons.

Using instinct seems more useful then being invisible to detection. I'm pretty fine with being detected. Half the people who hide are hiding behind walls you can shoot through anyway. lol. I personally prefer to take out people fast and don't mind getting rushed by groups. Especially since people running in groups seem the easiest to take out anyway. Instinct just allows you to realize that someones aiming on you even if they're out of sight. This is more valuable to me especially from someone who may not be detected aiming at me. This often allows me to straight out counter them. Seems places like Flak Tower for some reason are favorable to people to just sit and focus on people and camp their base. Was using bipod for the challenge in USS Texas stage and a Canadian decided to stay behind me while focusing down the people in front of me. Knowing he was aiming at me from behind I kneeled down turned and took him out. This is why I think that Instinct is an extremely powerful perk overall.

the bouncing betty (s-mine) is a great to have if you play a lot of SnD because they don't disappear once you die meaning you can still possibly get a kill if someone doesn't see it. and hardly anyone uses the flanker basic training so betties are very good for random kills.

I've done Basic Trainings for two of my three permanent unlocks...and my latest one was a lower level item: Lookout. Trying to do War mode without Lookout on my Mountain Division, even for a little bit, just killed me. As for unlocking the Springfield, I'd never even consider that. The Kar98 and the Springfield are practically the same, so if you really need that killer rifle, you can use that from lower levels, and Sniper Rifles in general are super fast to level and prestige, especially in War mode.

Scaryonyx you realise you need 200 kills at least to get it gold, that’s like 35-40 kills each match, which you’ll only get if you play for kills and the matches go all the way

You did the same thing I did with my free prestige token I got for preorder. All the people I know got the BAR or something and I used it on the Bren Gun thinking I was using a regular unlock token and not a prestige token. I was mad. The BAR has always been my favorite weapon of WWII especially after using my grandfathers that he brought back from the war and it pissed my off having to wait till 52 to unlock it. I rarely prestige anyway if at all and when I do I’ll usually only go thru the 1st prestige and never again because it’s stupid and a waste of time, but if I do I’ll definitely get the BAR and the Thompson.

As far as snipers my favorite two are the Lee Enfeild (feels the best long range to me) and the KAR (definitely the best for aggressive sniping). I’ve got the FG42 unlocked as well as primed. Next prestige I’m getting the Bar and after that... probably the machine pistol. I just really like that thing in this game. Might do the Thompson after that but I’ve never really been into it. Heck I might even do the fighter pilot since I’ve had a lot of success with it.

I knew right away 3 of the 5 you were going to say. (FG, Primed, BAR) The other two was a toss up and probably ones you could live without right lol. One basic training I use a lot is Ordinance. When playing TDM and my team is just not good or im against a party and they have their stuff together I usually switch my class that has Ordinance on it so I can get scorestreaks faster and give my team a better fighting chance.

I feel your pain on the fighter pilot accident. I used my 2nd and 3rd prestige tokens accidentally on Counter-Recon and Machine Pistol! Seriously needs an 'are you sure?' warning :(

The better question is : is it worth it to prestige ? And what kind of rewards you have when you prestige ? To be honest with you if there isn't a Cool rewards rather then extra class slot I will not prestige at all, why I keep going through the same process over n over just for extra slot ? For me I have an SMG class , AR class , a sniper class (just in case I play war ) and most of the times when I got my a** kicked with shotguns I use some of the default classes
