Whenever the clutch gets replaced on these cars the software usually gets updated to the latest version, 04-05 clutches should last just as long as 06-08. Never had any issues in 27k miles in 3 years, 1 clutch replacement after 20k miles and only $2300 in maintenance prior to the clutch which cost $8.9k with discount and a Kevlar clutch. Overall, very happy! Gets a lot of attention, some good some bad. But drive the things!! These Gallardos make nice dailies and get better the more you drive.

While I know SuperCars is in a different class, it's amaizing how much depreciation most of them have. A 12 year old Toyota could have a 20 grand loss in value with 300,000 miles on it... A 12 year old Gallardo, which I just saw listed in TN, $94,000, almost 100,000 dollar loss with 25k miles on it. You can even pick up a Bentley that used to be 300k for 40 grand
@ECPP5 жыл бұрын
sadly many of them depreciate hard. Likely cause those with money buy again new while those that have t stretch can barel afford or just decide that buying a new "regular car" is safer and more sensible.

@@ECPP Much like non millionaire cars, there are some that becomes some sort of collectors icon. Most of the time it's 50-60 years old. A handful of classic American muscle cars, fully stock, will fetch a high price especially if it's good condition. A friend's dad has an 03 (I think) mustang cobra, very low miles, with the chameleon paint job, worth almost 40 grand. I found a 98 (again, I think) Toyota Supra, fully stock with 40k original miles going for 90 grand.... Then you have the Ferrari 260 GTO which averages between 30-50 million at auction. Why it's that desirable, I'll never understand, but I get that it is a real bad ass of Italian muscle for it's time.. I can afford one SuperCar (lower end of them), but I wouldn't want one. The maintenance annually averages 5-8 grand a year, insurance limited you a couple thousand miles a year... There's a bit more science behind them than an average vehicle, and I enjoy driving or riding in one. But to have one of my very own, it's a dedication I don't want to make

Generally the newer the better. 06's now are at a decent price so that is probably the way to go, but generally other than the taller 1st gear in an 05, they are the same. 04 is the least desirable as it does not have certain interior branding, no nose lift, and some launch cars had early rod bearing d from another factory that were prone to failure.

Sounds like there would be a market for Chinese-manufactured maintenance parts for exotic sports cars. Buy 1 car, reverse engineer all the small stuff that breaks, and mass-produce affordable spares. Hell I would even consider designing UPGRADED replacement pieces that are better than the OEM parts. I bet a "high quality" Chinese factory with excellent QA/QC would be expensive by Chinese manufacturing standards but still save a fortune for end-users who are like "what do you mean power steering lines are a $5000 repair?"
