This just made me to consider the SCT 2000. I wanted a nice tube mic for my home recordings and I think I will settle with that. I live in the UAE Dubai and hope the delivery will be prompt without hiccups.

I have a now "vintage" SC1100 from 2003, how cool is that :) Twenty years old, with a sweet patina, It still sounds very good. It's an excellent microphone for almost everything, even kick drum front. I highly recommand this particular one, enjoy!

Tell me more! Do you use it as a kick out?
@DynamicRockers2 ай бұрын
@@samwerrell2104 yes, exactly. About 15-20cm in front of the front head.

the SCT 800 sounded absolutely incredible during the first few recordings ;-) I was totally impressed ;-) But I don't know what happended... it was almost as if the mike lost clarity within a short peroid of time???? :-(

I use alll of them 😁 My t.Bone top 5 remains: - SC-1100 for almost everything (this is the most versatile one and sounds great, way above its price point) - Slightly warmer, and therefore not always the best choice, but often very very good: SCT-2000, but a replacement tube is highly recommended. Sounds great on many things. - SC-450 could replace the SC-1100 if needed, and is certainly a good microphone on its own, I use it on secondary sources (I use 2 SC-1100's) - The Retro Tube 2 and SCT-800 are both great, but less versatile than the SCT-2000. The first is more coloured, and might fit some vocals extremely well. The latter sounds good, but is the least used one on this list for me.
