Great word. Always loved it. Love how it can be "go," "get going," "a lot going on" (es ist hier viel los), or even something like "on the way" (kind of like "unterwegs" that I've even heard before).

You need an actual reason to learn German, i.e. a reason that would make all the time spent learning German worth-it. If this reason doesn't exist, it's better to learn more useful skills. Life is short.
