Lol...its so fucking funny to see.
@cautixon4 жыл бұрын
Brake late, brake hard. *Hit the wall.*
@mikehawk2873 жыл бұрын
@lldkll if you brake late you'll have to slow down below the minimum speed for that corner, that happens to me a lot, for example the Aremberg corner in Nürburgring, normally you are driving around 200-240km/h, once you approach it, you have to brake until you reach 100km/h, the minimum speed for most production cars in that corner. But, if you brake late, you'll have to keep braking untill you slow down around 60km/h, or else you'll get off track, while other racers come out of the corner at 100 km/h and they gain speed faster. That's why braking late is bad. If you brake late and everything seems cool, that doesn't mean you are braking late, that either means the other cars are bots designed to brake early so that you can overtake them, or are new players who just brake early. So you aren't braking late, you are braking just in time. So next time try braking late while driving behind a pro who also happened to brake "late" or maybe try braking late while driving alone in time trial.

To be fair, the #1 mistake is kind of a good one to make, even the F1 drivers, who are known to be really skilled and technical, aren't afraid to try and explore the limits of their cars on any circuit they race, even if that means going to the grass sometimes. But hey, there's a reason why practice sesions exists, so that you can almost freely drive around and make any mistake before the race, and then have the perfect race without errors. PD: i said "almost" earlier because in real life, trying to go way over your own, or your car limits, not only will cause an accident, but also put your life and others as well in danger, so try to keep the reckless driving in just sim-racing xD

The main thing is u have to understand about Shift games to get better is that there is no grip after C class. That means u have no grip just like the other cars do. Hey bro. i've been racing sim games since i was 11 years old. Right now, I'm 19. Anyways, whenever I race, be at sim or carting, i always tend to figure out a line that no one knows or tend to use and i somehow manage to take advantage of the situation and make it beneficial for me, even though some say its impossible to pull it off and that only real pros can actually do it time and time again and everyone keeps asking me how i do it even though, honestly i don't really know what I did in the first place! So my question to you is: Is it really a good thing or a bad thing that i can somehow manage to find a line that no one has ever thought of using except for the pros even though I'm actually a rookie and I actually am able to pull it off no matter the situation?

@JReaLBiz864 жыл бұрын
I don't think I can consider myself a pro racer in racing games, but these aren't mistakes I make very often, if at all. Also, you have a tendency to exaggerate your point quite often in your videos. Specifically on your slipstream braking clip, you had the braking to make the corner on attempt 3, but braked differently than you did the first two laps (your second lap you actually braked early) by letting off the brakes far too soon. I agree that's something a driver has to keep in mind after a slipstream, but unless they are a beginner, I don't see these mistakes happening much at all. Overall I liked the video, because they are useful tips for a beginner who needs to learn consistency and proper racecraft. Perhaps you should make a video that shows what a beginner should do for an entire session at a track, from coming in and finding a setup, to working their way up to the limit, to running consistent laps within .2-.3 of each other, to driving around other racers and proper overtaking. I think with your format, if you put those ideas together as part of a process instead of just pointing out the mistakes, it could be beneficial to people learning how to race.

There's something that is not exactly a mistake, but a lot of people begun playing and get excited to use the cockpit camera and can't understand why they are slow than everyone, and that happens from a misconception that a lot of people have from racing games, people think that because you are using a camera inside the car, it is better and more reallistic, but in fact it is not, using that camera, you just can't feel the car like the real life, so, somethimes you are doing a curve, and the car is sliding and you not even realise that, and lose some seconds on that, the is to use that camera only when you understand the game properly, otherwise, is better to use outside camera ( that i believe is better competitively).

Similar to the slipstream one I often break too late because I have found a quicker way out of the previous corner. This invalidates the ordinary breaking point. Really annoying one as you feel you are onto a better lap time just to ruin it in the next corner.

about the cut 1st corner of Hockenheimring, most DTM racer will exit wide and no penalty.

#4 is way too common for me especially when I'm side by side with another opponent. The best thing for me is to back off and let them lead into the corner and just wait. I;m trying to stop dive-bombing into corners even with A.I. and breaking that habit of late braking at some corners now *shrugs*

8:49 honestly I think this was acceptable. It was timed well and the defender clearly wasn’t going to be turning in at the meeting point, and the late braking was still not insanely off the real braking point. Ok looking at it again it was a bit aggressive and the defender had to react. But it still looked like racing to me.

You're the master! Master Yoda! Very informative video. I mean I learned most of the racing skills against the AI (I don't do online racing) by observing the opponents (AI and real racing). But when I was learning to play racing Sim like GT sport, I decided 1st learn how to drive a car (GT sport) and it became difficult to learn/practice all the fundamental skills like acceleration, braking, turning, maintaining corner, defending, attacking, all of them simultaneously when car is in motion with (AI race) or without (time trial) the opponents when I am new. Especially when I am driven to win or passionate to play the game.

So what are you supposed to do on Monza for chicane at the beginning of the race when people are still pretty much side by side? Brake early and let them pass. Then you can watch the carnage unfold

awesome video but where is the real number 1 mistake. Braking late when someone is on my rear bumper (aka choking, getting nervous, losing my racing line).

Personally, driving lines are optional. IF I FIND A FASTER WAY FROM POINT A TO B, YOU'D BETTER BE WILLING TO BET I'M TAKING THE FASTER WAY! Such as clipping every apex of a series of winding turns.
