@@happycompy Wow can’t believe you remember. I’ve been dipping my toes lightly back into TW Commentary Style with my second channel SunScape. Thanks for the love I’ve been going hard since 2016 trying something new in Dragon Ball. I found your channel because I’m heavy into mods and once I heard there was a Viking Mod for Attila I was all in. But I never had Charlamagne apparently so I just picked it up. Gonna play with the Byzantine Expedition than Age of Vikings. Like I said you should showcase 3K. Not many people are doing it. Plus apparently they got this Roman Legionaries mod on there now too lol.

some kind of extra units mod is a must considering the lack of units from some of hte factions on AoC I was trying to find the one i used to use years back, but the one in this video works too

Great choice! However, I'd like to add a few more AoC mods to my liking which is Avar, Danes, Cordoba and Theme of Sicily (Byzantine mod requited) reskins. by *Avetis*. Definitely worth mentioning!

1:41 you know Age of Charlemagne is my favorite DLC but that always annoyed me..... why make one of the most unique factions unplayable? It probably is my second biggest grip with the DLC, just below leaving North Africa out of the campaign (i mean at least pull a Rise of the Republic and include northern Tunisia or something....)

also real quick, the Vikings mod changes the AoC from actually being the AoC to his successor, doesn't it? Is there a mod that has these improvements but for the actual AoC mod time period so we can fight against Charlesmagne during his reign instead of after? It's a bit nitpicky, and technically the Vikings existed during both centuries, they just "viking-ed" to England in the 8th century (but they existed as Migrators before that)

My only problem with AoV is that they didn't make Venice playable, i know they kinda sucked during that period but it would have been nice to play as the spicy guys.

Legit Venice is a playthrough I NEED to do! There's a faction unlocker that lets you play them in vanilla AoC.

How does age of Viking compare to Thrones of Britannia??? I love the time period and really enjoy the combat in ToB but I think I will try age of vikings

It's very similar. Basically the same setting but with Attila's building and combat mechanics.

Ive put DEI on hold waiting for full 1.2.8 release and i realized ive only played one AOC campaign so this was perfect. A mod of AOC in 711 AD would be cool, as the Visigothic Kingdom of Hispania we could resist the umayyad invasion with objectives. But for the map it should be set for the *Last Roman* DLC, which would remove northern Europe unfortunately. Is it possible adding UI of a DLC to a vanilla grand campaign map, mechanics?

Awesome video and mods! So is it safe for me to "bounce" between mods? I love mk1212 so much but also love AoC, and with these mods I'm drooling lol. I figure basically i'll have to turn them on/off each time and be careful to select the correct save games?

Yeah, you'll need to keep track of which mods are enabled for each separate campaign.

@@happycompy Cool, I downloaded the recommended mods and already love how it improves AoC campaign. I didn't realize the UI mod would make that much of a difference. I really like the Theme of Sicily mod that was recommended too. I was happy to find that most of the mods were compatible.

When I see Byzantium, I instantly approve it, if the appropriate attention to historical accuracy towards our beloved Empire is given. Never checked the mod since I don't own Attila, but yes Greek Fire ships are 100% where they should be, show that they can show to the Latins who is the Roman here :P Greek Fire Grenades also a nice addition, though the infantrymen shouldn't carry these Eastern Axes :P

It's pretty generic so i understand why it isn't on the list but Age of Martel is another interesting mod (maybe by default since there isn't that much for AoC hahaha). Also i don't know if 1212 is still playable on this campaign, but if it is then you have another pretty nice mod right there!
