It's pretty hard to save someone panicking in any body of water. They can just pull you under with them and it's scary as hell the feeling of losing breath while you're under water it's crazy. Lifeguards having boards or other stuff to help people float is just so important
@Bringon-dw8dx3 жыл бұрын
@@mastersanada ALL pools in western countries have floatation devices at the pool side (In my country so do most lakes and beaches at well)
@mastersanada3 жыл бұрын
@@Bringon-dw8dx Yep. At public pools they should all have some form of floatation device (I usually saw the rings) But at beaches or in residential pools it's different. Even worse, in rivers or ponds that people do also swim in there is no help and it is enter at your own risk.

I remember I was surfing on a shelf and I had this bad feeling about the rip and i turned around to see a young boy begging for life. I paddled over to him and right when i got close he slipped under the waves. I knew in that moment I had to risk my life for this poor kid, I ripped my leggy off and ditched the board and swam to the bottom and i found him out of luck. If I been 2 seconds late he would have drowned. I got him to the beach just find out that his mother was undergoing CPR from the same situation. She lived. Most surreal moment in my life. It’s just ignorance and lack of knowledge, for a lot of people a beach trip is a once in 10 years thing. Maybe they are even on vacation from another country and it’s a once in a lifetime vacation and it could be the first time with their kids. Many just think of the beauty of the ocean and don’t even consider it’s danger. Then the ignorance and lack of knowledge gets them into situations where they can be at risk of serious injury or death. It’s unfortunate but just a part of being a human being, we all live and we all learn one way or another whether by research and knowledge of safety protocols before entering the water or by nearly drowning.

Its shocking how many kids r nearly drowning and no one notices other than the life guards. How do u not notice a kid in distress right next to u
@cheyenneh6134 жыл бұрын
It’s actually pretty common that ‘normal’ people don’t notice a drowning. Contrary to in a lot of movies, drowning people do not make noise. No yelling for help, no screaming, just going up and under in the water. They do not have time to scream, their mouth fills with water and if not they are trying to suck in air. Most of them won’t even be able to wave hard with their arms or legs, cuz they are to busy trying to breath and stay up. Drowning is silent and with little splashing. You’re not trained, you won’t notice. I work at a big swimming lake. 2 people drowned last year in shallow water, on the busiest of days. No one noticed. Took us 2 and 3 days to even find the bodies.
@kendyhernandez73204 жыл бұрын
I only pay attention to my kids, I'm always watching them, if they on the water I'm in the water, or sitting down just watching. And they better not move from where I tell them they can swim, I don't like to repeat myself, I will take my chancleta and thats it... Now if I see a kid alone, I won't let him go on the water if I don't see the mom around....

I saw that and thought I was seeing things. Had to watch it a few times. I would never have thought of that.

Can we just take a moment of silence to appreciate the life guards. They risk their own lives and in some cases, BALLS 😂, and they don’t get the appreciation they deserve. Thank you guys for doing this 🥰😔🙏✊

I agree with this but in some cases, I feel like the lifeguards are too slow to action (not in this video though)

bless the man that saved the little girl, even though he lost his son, he still saves little kids from drowning

@@nikkiniels2128 Not just kids. As a young surfer in Durban South African I brought 27 people back to shore when they were in big trouble. Only 3 of them said thank you. Most of those were young adults.
