Yeah, Baccarat rouge 540 extrait and EDP versions took a while for me to fully appreciate the experience of wearing them. With all the hypes around me, I tried it in Neiman Marcus store, and I was going like, "Ok it smells ok, but I am NOT in love it either of the baccarat rouge." I felt like I was almost disappointed because I wanted it to be the love at first sniff type of experience, but it definitely was not for me. I tried the sample for a couple of weeks and then, bam, I was thinking it is the most sexiest and sophisticated scent I ever tried. I now own a full bottle of extrait and a decant bottle of EDP. I am still growing more fond of them each time i wear them. My signature scent now.

Thanks for this interesting review. Maremma by Tiziana Terenzi's aroma is so similar to Tom Ford's Black Orchid which I owned both but Black Orchid was the firts one.

SJP Stash is along the line of Santal33 and TF’s Santal Blush. I can relate with how an overly hyped frag isn’t a love at first sniff, this happened to me with Alien by Mugler.. maybe coz i have several flanker from the Angel line and the OG Angel for so long before i got Alien. Took a while, but eventually became one of those dumb reach on a date night during a cold weather! Oh by the way, @Redolessence recently posted a review another BR540 clone from Banana Republic.. tryna catch up with Creed’s record eh. Hehehe! Anyhoo, great video as always! 💯

I absolutely love BR540, the extrait is my favorite. Yes the almond does make it smooth. I love the clones too, cloud by Ariana Grande and Burberry Her for sure. I love them all. I think it is quite a masterpiece.

Have never smelled a clone of Black Orchid, did not even know it was highly cloned. Smelled the original EDT about two weeks ago in a store, and ordered a bottle just a couple of days later online. What a gorgeous scent! About Aventus, don't have the original, also don't plan to, but have Zara Vibrant Leather EDP, and Armaf Club de Nuit Intense EDT.

I own a clone of Lost Cherry and a couple different versions of BR540 from Dua And Alexandria. I’ve found countless versions of Roja Dove Elysium out there as well. I think another frequently cloned/inspired by fragrance would be Dior Sauvage. I smell it everywhere

To me, santal 33 is a calmed down, smooth version of diptyque philosykos. I liked santal 33 at first sniff but didn't understand the hype about it 😄. I hated diptyque philosykos at first; smells like fresh grass to me. It has grew on me, though. I add vanille insensee to philosykos and the outcome is BEAUTIFUL!

I have tried Portrait of a Lady as a sample and honestly I hate it. For me the rose is destroyed by a weird note that almost busts it open in the middle. I don’t have any clones of it either. I have a dupe of BR 540 called Sweven by Oakcha which smells identical but doesn’t last as long.. I do have another rose patchouli called Wow Intense by Joop- pretty awesome!

Here are some of my favourite blends and in some cases i prefer them Tom ford black orchid - ard al zaafaran oud 24 hours edp fantastic price mfk bacarat rouge 540 extrait - thomas kosmala no4 great great great opening creed aventus - armaf club d nuit but got to be edp version tom ford tuscan leather is copied a lot - perfume parlour in the uk have a good version as a man I adore chanel no5 but lanvin aperge black bottle is great, i think lanvin came first

Portrait of a lady is one of my favourite rose fragrances, very sexy and classy. But I’m wondering does it also inspired by Amouage Epic women? I know both of them are different and goes to different directions, but my nose can still get some same dna from them. Santal33 is not easy to wear to me, I like the Santal Park from Kierin NYC, more brighter, easier and fun to wear. I like this house too, if you haven’t tried, please do! Thanks for the video.

I have a 200 ml bottle of 540 and I bought blind buy because i heard so much great things about it. It’s one of my biggest perfume collection regrets! I just can’t get into the smell! I’ve been thinking about reselling it or just keeping it in my collection so I can say that I have it.

Same thing happened with me, I think 200ml of BR540 is toned or watered down, I have sampled 70 ml version of BR540 EDP and it was better and long lasting by one hour more at least, even better is BR540 extrait the red bottle , it has more longevity and something extra and a kick similar like Tom Ford Neroli Portifino Forte , where fragrance smell but you get more with longevity and a classic kick and twist to the flavor

Hello, out of all these, I only have cloud by Ariana Grande...dupe for baccarat rouge, and spirito fiorentino by tiziana terenzi...not sure if br 540 or the tiziana came first...I would love to buy original br540 though!!

The 540 for me is a must have. I have 540 AND Spirito Fiorentino. There is a leather aspect in Spirito Fiorentino that makes it wear different. For me that one is a casual fragrance and a bit edgy. 540 is classy/pretty.

Out of the 5, the only one I do not own is La Labo Santal 33. Black Orchid, the closest I have is Amoroud Dark Orchid; as for POAL, I feel Diptyque's Eau Capitale is quite similar; BR 540 for me closest is Mancera Instant Crush or Montale Sensual Instinct; Aventus' twins would be Mancera Cedrat Boise or Nishane Hachivat or Armaf Club de Nuit Intense for Man

le couvent des minimes TINHAré is also a clone for baccarat . i don't get the hype on this one but if someone is interested in it it's a great value . great video by the way , i have two santal 33 clone, one from zara and one from "hema" called star dust . i smelled m7 oud absolu one day and the dry down for me is very very similair to FM "dries van noten" i don't know why. rituals "oasis verte" is a clone for terre d'hermes. i have some chogan clones "black aghano" (the same beast mode perfume ), they habe really good clones i don't know if it's available worldwide but the clones are made in italy . that all for me ahha !

Long before Santal 33, there was Chanel Bois des Iles. I covet BdI in pure parfum, maybe next year. MLM Bois de Balincourt is supposed to be a good dupe of Santal 33, and I just got ahold of a small sample of each, so will need to test them both to see if I prefer one of them. I have yet to be totally into any PoaL clones. I enjoy other kinds of rose perfumes, but none quite hit it, you know?

In an interview of Frederick Malle about Portrait of a Lady, he mentioned that it was inspired by "Geranium pour Monsieur", itself inspired by Frederic's father mouthwash named l'eau de Botot. Of course we are talking about inspirational notes or emotions that Dominique Ropion transcended in order to created this timeless masterpiece. I agree about not buying dupes...I did it once (Baccarat rouge/Aristocrate shame on me), I ended spraying three times more perfume so at the end it is not even cheaper for a lower quality.

I hate Santal 33, on me it smells like straight up leather, and I'm note a fan of leather notes / accords. I also hate BR 540 - not that I tested it on my skin, but I couldn't move the tester strip away from my nose fast enough, so I have no desire to wear it in the first place ;)

My love at first sniff was with Baccarat Extrait. I had to stop the girl wearing it as if my life depended on it . Not a big fan of 540 OG but I got it anyway just to layer it and give it a bit more of longevity and not much nose blinded and...... I LOVE IT. Will keep on repurchase it forever 🤩😅 it's popular and I don't care. The Extrait to me has a cherry opening imo probably the almond mixed gives it that resemblance. Anyway, can't stop wont stop.. my guilty pleasure cause it's expensive lol but can't live without my 200ml sisters from MJK 😋

Nothing is more Cloned than Creeds Aventus. I have the Original Bottle however there are "houses" that have started out from Cloning Aventus. BR540 is cloned a lot now but I haven't smelt it but I will aim to get a decant first to see if I like it. Toms Ford Tuscan Leather and Tobacco Vanille are cloned alot as well. However they are cold weather fragrances and so probably do not sell so much.

Hypnotic poison is one of my favs.. Id best deacribe that as a sweet powdery vanilla. POL is big early hit of rose that dries down to dark earthy mossy rose. They're distinctly different scents

Hello Sir,I live in UK and I got a clone of BR540 from Parfume Parlor company and I have to tell you that is great.Strong and perform all day long.Also,I got from them a copy of Intoxicated by Kilian and this clone perform better then original,is crazy. MFK made an amazing version of TF Black Orchid for the house of Elie Saab called Nuit Noor and it is amazing!! It’s super long wearing and has a sparkly almost fizzy note to it. It is more feminine leaning and one of my best blind buys.

If you are just talking about heavily cloned niche fragrances then Green Irish Tweed and Millesime Imperial would probably be up there. If it’s designers then Acqua Di Gio I imagine would be near the top as well as Sauvage, Bleu de Chanel and probably Chanel No 5 just because of how old it is.

I own several clones mainly from the same house some are because I wanted a more wearable "trial size" (something I could spray and wear more than once) and honestly with all these reformulations on fragrances I feel like some of these companies gave me the go ahead to find something better or longer lasting. Don't get me wrong I do own niche and some of my clones will lead me to purchasing the real thing but I had a very bad experience with a bottle of Layton not performing anything like the sample I purchased

yes! i was so disapointed yesterday , i subscribed to a website where you can have 3 samples (8ml) so i choose oud for greatness ,rehab and side effect and oud for greatness is baccarat with a beautiful note of oud but the oud disappears on my skin and i'm left with a a baccarat clone .. rehab is really good but it's just a sweeter version of spicebomb , and side effect has really nothing special i don't get the tobacco in it so .. i don't get the sillage everybody's talking about either ..

Hi Sebastian, once again a nice video About the choices I have both original and clones of BR 540 and Creed Aventus , About Santal 33 , my fav and even more preferred one is Dunhil Century but I have no idea of any dupes of portrait of a lady , maybe bcoz I am just a fan but not a huge fan portrait of a lady , I have no problem with portrait of a lady but my wife just can’t stand it, she tells me to go and take a shower or leave the house and go out, then I honestly think portrait of a lady is not that awesome that I have to leave my house , I would for Fredric Malle Musc Ravageur.

@@ThePerfumeGuy There is Orchid Noir from Just Jack. Smelled very dark during the first couple of wearings then somehow the juice in the bottle changed and smells very similar to BO. I tested Orchid Noir and BO on each hand.
