@@capberganza I have had two Qualifier DLX with MIPS, and I find them to be the most comfortable fullface helmet for the price, lightweight. I ride a full fairing with windscreen bike, and wind is not even a major factor. However; they have a recess port for a Sena Mountable unit, and ibfilled that recess with foam because I mounted a Packtalk Bold. Filling the void added noise dampening characteristics. Additionally, I wear Surefire EP7 ear plugs with my JBL Packtalk, and I hear my comms just fine. Recently, I purchased a Shark EVO GT modular helmet. HJC CL MAX 2 As testimony, I live in Chile and I work as delivery guy for an international brand of pizza. Ive been doing it for 2 years now and I do around 60 runs every weekend. (year round, with sun, rain and wind) Because I use glasses myself I prefer using a modular helmet, so I dont need to take off my glasses everytime I have to put or take off my helmet. For every run I have to use the chin bar release mechanism 2 times, plus all the times I use it to talk to people to ask for directions or whatever. Thats like 14.000 times in 2 years, the mechanism is still intact. In fact the whole helmet is in good condition.

It's a great helmet, feels very sturdy all around and I love being able to open the entire front of my helmet to talk or just get more air on my face. Ventilation is pretty good as well, although I run hot so the shield fogs up but I just put in the pinlock anti-fog shield and I'm good to go. As usual, another fantastic top five video, really loving these. Also, I've heard from many people that a Snell endorsement means nothing recently, apparently they've begun being paid to endorse helmets, don't know if it's true but I keep hearing the same thing from different people I talk with, although I haven't done any research myself, so I don't have an opinion currently.

Anyone answer me the advantage a modular helmet actually provides? I don't see the point of having a helmet that can do full face or half but neither fully. Like as a full face it is going to be heavy and there is the possibility that they can be forced open in a crash. As a half helmet it doesn't exactly look very good and that is a lot of weight extended over your head not doing anything.

what do u think is the best for the occasional passanger rider?

Dare I say, none of them? I'd personally choose the HJC IS-17 as a passenger helmet. It's one of the most universally-fitting lids I know - almost everyone is at least semi-comfortable in it. Plus there's the drop-down sun visor and decent ventilation, which are nice options to give your pillion. Mainly though, it's one of the safest "budget" helmets out there. Perfect 5/5 from SHARP. I was interested in the Kabuto helmets (they seem high quality and can be had for steals online) but am having a hard time figuring out which would be best for me between the FF-5V, RT33, and Aeroblade III. I am a new rider and have a Ninja 250r which has an upright riding position. On the Kabuto website they classify those helmets as racing, racing/sports, and sports/touring, respectively. Does this mean the FF-5v would be best suited to a more leaned over riding position? What exactly are the important differences between them? Does it make a huge difference if I'm not trying to set lap records? Would I be able to actually feel more wind resistance?

@FortNine8 жыл бұрын
They're essentially equal in weight, ventilation and road noise. The SS1700 has a drop-down sun visor. On the HJC side, the CL-Max 2 is a little cheaper (with no sun visor) and the IS-Max 2 is a little more expensive (with the sun visor). Personally, I would choose based on head shape. The first thing you said about the first helmet was that you choose it because you like the way it feels... Yeah, I mean who wants to wear an uncomfortable helmet, but it's certainly not my main deciding factor. This gear is meant to protect, and when a great recommendation is made without mentioning this most important factor as the primary factor it misinforms the follower. There is a horrible lack of respect for the danger when crashing a motorcycle, and it's a problem that needs to be closely tied into gear reviews.
