Yo yo how goes it Smokey? Hands down the most disgusting thing that people do while camping/hiking is taking a crap in the woods and not burying it , and the TP goes in the hole. Stay ripped!

@@SmokeyDukems putting my science degrees to work: I’m really sorry to have to tell you this but fecal coloforms are the dangerous part of stool and toilet paper is not effective at keeping your hands clean or cleaning the rectum after a movement. And to top it off since most TP doesn’t break down when buried you might as well wipe with styrofoam and bury that or do right thing and bag it out. The bidet method if done properly is more hygienic and results in not having to carry out used TP that will end up in a landfill.

So keep my dirty paper till town and throw it away. I thought I degraded fast as it does when in water. I don’t know the proper use for the Bidet so I’ll have to learn the proper method I recon and try it before I knock it

I’ll never understand using one’s own hand to wipe. I bought one of those bidet things. Have yet to use it, but when and if I do, I’ll still use TP and/or wipes. In CA you’re supposed to carry out your TP so I use a doggie poop bag inside a ziplock so I can’t see it.

One time a buddy and I went camping in April and it was still very early spring for where I live so we didn't bring bug spray bc it snows here. But when we went to the river the swim and explore there was so many damn mosquitos swarming us every time we got close to the water. So we got mud and absolutely covered ourselves in it. We were wearing swim trunks luckily but damn that mud smelt like shit but it did keep the mosquitos off. We washed it off in the river before we changed. A fisherman came by and saw us covered in mud and laughed. He didn't seem bothered though he was more intrigued that we caught a crayfish so far up north. But that's another story.

just now I learned that some people don't wash their hands after wiping with TP and they think their hands are clean afterwards, I think that's pretty nasty lol! Seriously though I just found out about the backwoods bidet recently and I ordered one for my next car camping trip. I don't think I would use one backpacking, especially not with the same bottle I'm drinking out of. but it is definitely cleaner. One important detail that you might be missing is that you use soap with it. IDK why that's so nasty, don't you wash your ass in the shower? same thing

Here's how we kept clean at war: 1. Bottle of rubbing alcohol 2. 1 cap full in all four pits 3. 1 cap full for the rest of the crotch and asshole 4. 1 cap full for your feet. 5. 1 cap full to wash your hands 6.. 1 wet washcloth to wipe it all off with, dry the cloth on the outside of your ruck and sanitize with the alcohol. You burn your shit in the fire, buy a field shitter, crap in some kind of container, and then burn your shit after the fire gets hot.

WOW. your #1 is a real #2 hahahaha that is bad... i get the bidet used With a little tp but with your hands?? then what... that would lead to another example of Awful: they then wash off their hands in a creek? gross. carry tp. pack Out tp in a plastic bag. i guess AT hikers dont do that often but in the west it is mostly law and always good practice. tp does not degrade quickly like poop does and "quick" is a year or more... we carry a bag or bucket and wash off well away from water sources never wash clothes dishes or ourselves in a lake or creek. wash bug spray and sunblock off with a rag away from water before swimming. idiots who dont care about the next person leave their sweat and germs in the ponds and creeks for you to drink later on.... but cleaning the bidet by hand after, that really takes it that is as bad as it gets. great video this may blow up its showing up in the feeds

Yeah no flowers or any sweet smells over here yo. Especially not in flippin Bear country. Bears & rodents love & are totally attracted to the smell of basically ANY edibles i.e. fruits, vegetables, herbs, spices, flowers, etc, etc. I use Dr. Bronners brand soap "No Scent" in the backcountry. Best organic olive oil soap on the market. Very popular with the outdoor types. Next trip I'm gonna try the new Dr. Bronners scent/flavor > "Dead Moose Rotting In The Sun". That should really keep those Bears away! 😉 LOL

one thing i never see a in backpacker loadouts is a trough or a small shovel i have one its fitted under my pack but i never see anyone else with one and trash the worst type are smokers there the worst dirty sods going you ca smell there addict miles away what a putride smell ???
