I’ve been waiting for a June release video; everyone seems to have been delayed with this one. Thanks a lot, this seems to be a smaller release but the assistant control of entities looks like a big step forward

Yes, somehow, not seeing a lot of those videos this time. I think a lot will be focusing on AI side of the story maybe and upcoming ESPHome/Assist updates later this month.

Thank you for this video. I think the new integration of OpenAI is an absolutely killer feature. If everything works fine, Home Assistant can do more than Alexa or Siri and make them obsolete.

It's nice to see the token expiry change. I've been getting really fed up lately with programs taking control away because they think they know better than me. It's refreshing to see devs go in the opposite direction.

I just added a hacs component for timer visibility. Seeing it baked in is super nice and I'm excited to move it over to native!

EDIT: "Tags as entities" refers to NFC tags, not naming tags. BUMMER! Tags as entities is HUGE! Now I can control my switches and lights through one tag without having to change a switch to be seen as a light! I also like the Sections conditioning!

That should be amazing for using stuff like Presence simulator.. last time I had to convert all my light switches .. what a pain

I just watched another 2024.6 announcement video and he made it sound like the tags feature is for NFC tags, not the 'new' naming/grouping tags.

Was a but buffled with switch/light comment, but actually my fault for not explicitly saying NFC.

There is a moon integration (if I remember correctly) and you just use this code in UI: fields: moon_elevation: true moonrise: true moonset: true moon_phase: true

in post processing you could raise up the volume of your video. I found myself in a position to have to maximize the volume of my speakers to hear you.

Hmmm..what happened to the security uodate that was delayed from the last release.? Some useful additions this month.

It is currently getting completely overhauled. Current ETA for release is August 2024. It will add some other improvements but as it was blocking some apps, required a lot more work and different approach.

Great video, though you seem to be overdue on becoming a super villain. I guess you won't rule the world before 2025... The "if (entity=state) show section" for dashboards is a great addition! One feature I'd like to see is a multi-code disarm for the alarm integration, like is possible on physical alarms. If it could be based on logged in user that could be pretty cool. Even more powerful would be a way to have a trigger based on entered code, then you could, for example, disarm the house for the cleaning lady but keep the garage sensors enabled or whatever makes sense

I'm a late boomer... This time next year I'll rule the world!!! This is really great idea for multi-code. Will dig into it and ask devs. I know that external HACS integration - Alarmo, already supports multiple codes/users.
